Rob49 Talks the Shooting on French Montana Set

Popular rapper Rob49 from New Orleans is currently recovering from a shooting that occurred during a music video shoot with French Montana last month. The incident left ten people injured, including the rapper and one of his bodyguards.

A video of the incident shared online showed a number of people lying on the ground bloodied. Miami Gardens Police haven’t confirmed the full number of victims or their conditions, but NBC 6 South Florida reported that the 24-year-old rapper and his bodyguard were among those shot.

What Happened?

A shooting outside a Miami Gardens restaurant left at least 10 people injured Thursday night as French Montana, legal name Karim Kharbouch, and his production crew shot a music video. WSVN reports that shots rang out just before 8 p.m.

According to the news station, an altercation started somewhere else and spilled over into the restaurant. Several victims were transported by police and paramedics to hospitals, with one in critical condition.

New Orleans rapper Rob49 was also shot, and he remains in the hospital. During the shoot, witnesses told WSVN, people were robbed at gunpoint, then someone sprayed bullets into the crowd.

A witness, Ced Mogul, recalled hearing more than a dozen gunshots before people started running around chaotically. He said he saw Rob49 sprinting towards him, blood covering his shirt.

The Shooting

Rapper Rob49 has opened up about the shooting that occurred on the French Montana set. The New Orleans rapper was reportedly among the 10 injured during a video shoot for the Moroccan-American singer last month, and he’s now sharing an exclusive video message with fans.

A shooting erupted during the shoot outside of The Licking Miami Gardens on Thursday night (January 5), and witnesses say it involved multiple people. According to NBC 6 South Florida, four people brought themselves to the hospital and six were airlifted.

In addition, a blogger who attended the shoot was allegedly just an inch away from death. His attorney says he’s planning to file a lawsuit as police continue to look for the gunman responsible.

It’s unclear if the shoot was planned. But police said it was triggered by a robbery, which happened while the shoot was going on behind KFC in Miami Gardens. That led to the crew moving to The Licking, where guns were ablaze.

The Survivors

During a recent interview, New Orleans-based rapper Rob49 spoke about the shooting that happened alongside French Montana in January. The two were celebrating the release of their latest single “Igloo.”

NBC Miami reports that Rob49, who had a relationship with French before the incident, was one of 10 people shot. He told the outlet that an altercation at a different location eventually moved to The Licking restaurant.

He also said that he was robbed of his watch, keys and wallet.

According to witnesses, the shooting occurred during French Montana’s music video shoot outside The Licking, which is owned by DJ Khaled.

Paramedics and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene, bringing four victims to hospitals. Of those, one was in critical condition.

Recovery

In a shooting that occurred on the set of a music video shoot, rising rapper Rob49 was injured. His recovery has been a long and difficult process, but it’s one that Rob49 will never forget.

The 24-year-old New Orleans rapper, who grew up with a single mother, had been filming a video outside The Licking restaurant in Miami Gardens when the shooting took place. He was transported to a hospital.

It’s a time that Rob49 and his loved ones will never forget. Roth says that the initial 72 hours after a gunshot incident can be especially traumatic, but that patients who are well-supported tend to recover faster.

The recovery process can involve therapy, but the most important part is having a strong support system of family and friends. These people can be there to help, even when the patient is angry or sad. They can also be there to provide encouragement and reassurance, according to Barton.
