Mathew S. Rosengart, Britney’s lawyer, announced that, after this settlement, her wish for freedom is entirely fulfilled. Mr. Rosengart added that Britney won breathlessly when the judge removed her father, and she won again when her basic human rights and liberties were restored.
The settlement also means that Britney and her father would not go through the trial on the lawsuit filed against Jamie for alleged financial misconduct done during the conservatorship period. The trial was due to start in May. The agreement notes that both parties “resolved all the outstanding matters,” and Jamie is “fully and finally discharged as Former conservator of the estate” .
