Da Brat is defending her big bro Jermaine Dupri, after he pissed off a few people in the music industry– specifically female rappers.
Jermaine Dupri is a legend in the music world, and as a legend, he comes with his own set of opinions on the current state of the rap game. Overall Da Brat defends Jermaine Dupri on his perspective.
His latest opinion is that female rapper need to step their game up if they want to be the best. Jermaine called the current wave of female artists, like Cardi B and City Girls, “stripper rappers.”
“I can’t really say because they all rap about the same thing. I don’t see them highlighting the best rapper. It feels like they’re more like rapping strippers. I’m not seeing the best rapper; it’s more like everyone’s sharing stories about dancing in clubs. So, who’s really going to stand out as the rapper?”
Not surprisingly, his comments led to a lot of controversies and left many women feeling sour. All except Da Brat. While she was in LAX on Tuesday, Da Brat gave her opinion on what JD said to TMZ cameramen.
“Jermaine Dupri plans everything carefully. He’s smart and knows his moves. He’s a genius. It’s good that the talk about all female rappers has begun. Now we’re the center of attention – new, experienced, and legendary.”
However, no matter if Jermaine is right or wrong, it’s obvious that Da Brat would never say anything to go against him. In her mind, Jermaine is doing female rappers a big favor by calling attention to them.
