R. Kelly’s Conspiracy Theories About Jay-Z While in Jail
The beef between R&B star and hip-hop mogul is heating up again. It started when Jay-Z dropped some tough shit in court about his former Best of Both Worlds tourmate and convicted criminal. Kelly then responded with his lawsuit, which he says is an attempt to deflect attention from his upcoming trial for allegedly having sex with a fourteen-year-old girl.
R. Kelly’s Lawsuit
In his lawsuit, Kelly claims that during a concert at Madison Square Garden in October, the promoter convinced him that he could finish his show safely after police searched the audience and found no weapons. But when he was about to go back onstage, Kelly says, he was pepper-sprayed by someone from Jay-Z’s entourage. He says he was rushed to the hospital and treated for his injuries, but he would not say who sprayed him.
But Suge Knight has some shady info if you want to put a pin in this story. He says that Jay-Z’s associate Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith acted on instructions from the rapper himself and that he had yet to see even $1 million from his work with Jay-Z. This is a bit strange, considering that the pair have been working together since 1996—before both of them had their first hits.
It’s also worth noting that the Ra Diggs trial revealed that most rappers who claim to be street-wise hustlers are either fakes or secretly on the down low. And since Jay-Z is one of them, he’s constantly getting into trouble for his reactions to perceived danger. For example, he once shot his brother, and I’m not sure that’s the kind of reaction a bona fide gangster would have. It’s almost as bad as when Butch Coolidge tries to run over Marsellus Wallace—and it’s a perfect example of why Jay-Z should learn to take it easy on his poor little brain.
