In a genre already filled with artists, rap legends could easily retire and make way for new talent. However, fans can’t resist a comeback from their favorite icons, like 50 Cent. The renowned rapper, known for hits like “In Da Club,” has been away from the studio for a while, but he’s making a comeback. He recently announced the release of the soundtrack for his Starz series Black Mafia Family, featuring some notable names from the rap industry, including 50 Cent himself. After completing his successful show POWER, the rapper is now gearing up for his next film project.

50 Cent, once a prominent rap star, has expanded his empire and ventured into various industries. From music to business, he has now made a name for himself as a successful film producer. Recently, he announced the premiere date for his upcoming series Black Mafia Family. After completing filming for the Starz series, 50 Cent shared with fans that the show will debut on September 26. Building anticipation, he even claimed on Instagram that Black Mafia Family will surpass the success of POWER. It seems the rapper is determined to outshine his previous accomplishments.

Initially, the rapper had plans for a POWER soundtrack, but he decided to shift his focus to his new Starz series. The soundtrack will include a song by 50 Cent himself, as well as a collaboration between Dugg42 and Jeezy. However, due to a recent feud between Jeezy and 50 Cent, the executive producer of POWER has been less inclined to feature the rapper on the soundtrack. It seems that forming friendships is becoming increasingly difficult for 50 Cent these days.

While some artist don’t fair well in their solo careers after their musical group disbands, Fifth Harmony’s Normani remains the exception. Since the 2019 release of her hit single and music video for “Motivation”, the star has received major praise from fans everywhere. Even Beyonce reached out to the starlet on social media, noting that she looks forward to seeing more from her. Normani clearly didn’t disappoint, especially with the latest release of her new track “Wild Side.” The music video even had fans raving about the song. Talk about a major comback for Normani.

Recently, Normani released her newest track “Wild Side” which features none other than Cardi B. Previously, the two joined forces on the set of Cardi B’s controversial “WAP” music video and killed it. Once again, the two stars slayed again on the music video for “Wild Side.” Prior to the video drop, the star teased snippets and scenes for the song. Not to mention, she even revealed the cover art for the song on social media. Normani and Cardi B pose together, almost entirely nude with their long waves of hair covering them.

Though, Normani wasn’t the only one promoting her upcoming music video. Even Cardi B had a few praiseworthy words to share about the star’s new track. “This song and everything is amazing. I’m so proud of her . . . I’m so excited. You guys are going to see Normani in a different light,” Cardi B told Entertainment Tonight. Of course, “Wild Side” end up being worth the hype.

Since dropping the video for “Motivation” back in 2019, people have been obsessed with Normani. Now that “Wild Side” has dropped, fans can’t stop raving over every aspect of the music video. Not to mention, the song beats to the tune of the late Aaliyah song “One In A Million”, which just makes the song all the more intriguing. Everyone from Qveen Herby, Jojo, Winnie Harlow, Ariana Grande, Megan Thee Stallion and even her old Fifth Harmony bandmate Lauren Jauregui praised the star on her new song. Coi Leray has been under fire since the release of her XXL Freshman Cypher alongside DDG, Lakeyah, and Morray. The “No More Parties” rapper delivered a lackluster freestyle and even proceeded to twerk as an alternative. Social media didn’t take kindly to her showing, which prompted multiple responses from Leray. “Bro coileray couldn’t rhyme anymore in her freestyle n started twerking,” a now-viral tweet read. “Nah coi leray imma need you to hire a freestyle coach and a ghost writer,” another tweet read.

The “BIG PURR” rapper then dismissed the criticism of her rap skills on Twitter. “How the hell you gon tell me how to rap? Ain’t no f**king rule book n***a I do and say wtf I want you either like it or not b**ch I’m here,” she wrote.

 

Leray didn’t stop there. She confidently claimed on her Instagram story that her XXL Freshman Freestyle was the best in her class. She expressed her belief that she and Lakeyah had the strongest freestyle performances. Leray also mentioned the cyphers, stating that she believed her class had the best cypher, although she hadn’t heard the others yet. She particularly highlighted her own performance.

In other news, the 24-year-old rapper is getting ready to release her first album in September. Guest appearances will include H.E.R., A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Nav, and more.

Old School Rapper, Biz Markie has died at 57 due to a series of complications from diabetes. Born Marcel Theo Hall on April 8, 1964, he resided in Harlem before he rose to fame. At his start, Markie would perform in New York City clubs. Then, he moved onto colleges where he began to get recognized and cut a record. 

A star is Born with a New name

The rapper was best know for the 1989 hit record, “Just a Friend.” The song was known globally and went platinum as it reached top 40 around the world. Consequently, Biz Markie was propelled into super stardom.

Additionally, The rapper acted in comedic roles and was a DJ. Some of his acting roles included In Living Color, Men in Black II, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Sharknado II.

How He Got His Name

“I got the name Biz from the first hip-hop tape I heard in the late ’70s by the L Brothers. The DJ was Grand Wizard Theodore, and the rappers were Kevvy Kev, Master Rob, and Busy Bee Starski. I was a big fan of Busy Bee, and his name resonated with me. My nickname in the neighborhood was Markie, so I combined Biz with Markie to form my stage name. It used to be Bizzy B Markie, but eventually, I settled on Biz Markie.”

His Final Moments

In April 2020, Markie was hospitalized due to severe complications from Type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, In December 2020, it was reported Markie suffered a stroke related to a diabetic coma. Then, he was in a rehabilitation facility undergoing rehab.  However, his illness worsened and he was hospitalized once again but for a final time.

According to TMZ, he passed in a Baltimore hospital at 6:25 PM Friday night. His wife, Tara Hall was comforting him in his last moments staying by his hospital bed until his eventual death.

EZ Papi Releases Great Summer Album, ‘Trapped Emotions 2’

Rising star EZ Papi releases a hot new album for the summertime, titled Trapped Emotions 2. The seven-track project allows the new artist to be upfront about the emotional rollercoaster he’s on right now.

The album depicts the story of a man on the hunt for his true love, but he suffers multiple heartbreaks along the way. As a result of dating the wrong women. This brings him to ponder about what it is he truly wants and is looking for in life. As he embarks on a quest of self-discovery, his “emotions remain trapped.”

“Shakespeare’s work I’ve always been a fan of and appreciated… I wanted to create the same heartbreak and romance he had in his work except turning it into a collection of songs,” EZ Papi said.

EZ delivers each song in such a way that listeners feel seen and understood while remaining in a happy mood because of the musically enticing Afro-Caribbean sounds. Although the subject matter of Trapped Emotions 2 is somewhat emotional. “Spanish Nights” and “Let Me See U,” for example, are notable tracks that demonstrate his versatility and style, with him even singing in Spanish.

Getting his name from his “OG” growing up for being so laid back and chill, EZ’s music is a great expression of his personality. As he continues crooning on the smoothest of Afro-Caribbean compositions that grab the listener’s attention immediately.

He’s been writing music and poems since elementary school. The encouragement he received from teachers and peers when they heard any of his work convinced him to pursue a career in music, which has truly paid off in his favor.

“I love making music because it brings joy and has the power to heal and save lives. My music is all about positive energy and dance vibes, and I want to continue spreading that positivity worldwide.”

An example, could be Dr. Strange during the events of Avengers End Game in which he spoke of many scenarios that happen during the fight with Thanos. With, Marvel tackling multiverses, Dr. Strange will be key in making sure things don’t vear to off of the universal thread.

Because timelines, can become destroyed and altered, the Multiverse must be protected. Thereby, there are individuals whose primary function is to keep the timeline safe. One is Merlyn. Another is the Time Variance Authority, that has made it’s appearance on the show, Loki.

While doing a podcast for D23, Inside Disney (Apple | Spotify), Kevin Feige spoke about Marvel’s recent projects and endeavers in tackling the multiverse stories. An Interviewer asked him how Marvel Studies keeps plotlines straight. With the multiverse in full play, things are destined to get interesting and a bit confusing so Marvel Studios employees actually had a meeting to make sure everyone was on the same page with events that unfold and the rules of the multiverse.  More over, Feige said,

“We have dedicated individuals who remember and communicate the information for us. We frequently have meetings to discuss the growth and development, and Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and I oversee all of them.”

Additionally, Marvel Studios has a team who has been diligient in keeping timelines straight and the entire story together. Kevin Feige credits them in the podcast.

“But in reality, a highly dedicated and creative team at Marvel Studios works tirelessly on each project.”

Below, Feige speaks more about the people in charge of each storyline. These storylines will create a series of events that will change how the timeline will look. As well as, have big impacts to the already known stories. Furthermore, without everyone taking care of their respective roles, it would be impossible to keep from making mulltiverse errors.

“Mary Livanos managed WandaVision throughout, Zoie Nagelhout handled The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on a daily basis, and Kevin Wright played a key role in developing the beloved aspects of the Loki series alongside Kate Herron and Tom Hiddleston.”

No doubt, it will be exciting, for sure.

“Be a Better Batman.”

Jump ahead to present, Red Hood is killing of criminals and Dick goes after him. Of course, this takes place after Batman quit and after learning that Jason Todd died at the hands of Joker. Batman felt that he failed Jason. Remember, in  season 2, Bruce was struggling with Jason Todd and reached out to Dick to help him with Jason.

He leaves Titans Tower once again feeling cast out but begins a relationship with Rose, daughter of Deathstroke and plant in the Titans (207, “Bruce Wayne,” 209, “Atonement”)

Rose admits to Jason that she was a plant for Deathstroke  because of what happened to Jericho. Jason feels betrayed and feels used despite having real feelings for Rose. He leaves her and heads out on his own, which is where we find him in season 3 (212, faux Hawk)

Now, feeling abandoned by both Batman and the Titans and Rose, Jason Todd goes out on his own. What happens next sets both Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson on their respective paths and things will be changed in a dramatic way for both Batman and the Titans.

However, the greatest dangers lie in most packages that say “mixed nuts”. Other nuts are even more dangerous than raw cashews. For example, macadamias are even more toxic because they contain certain chemicals which are not agreeable to these animals. Scientists are currently conducting research to uncover more, about it. There is already awareness that consuming macadamias can be hazardous. When purchasing nut based products it is important to ensure they are not mixed, with types of nuts.

As you can see, cashews are safe enough for your dogs to eat. They are rich in omega acids that are great for their health, but you must add them sparingly to their diet. Uneek Makes Debut In Issa Rae’s Documentary On Netflix

Uneek, a Baltimore native (Errigh LaBoo Jr.), is making his big-screen debut to showcase the positive influence of Baltimore club music culture. Known as Neek, he has dedicated years to uplifting his community and transforming the lives of local youth. Neek is a prominent figure in the independent documentary “Dark City Beneath the Beat.” The film premiered at the 2020 SXSW Film Festival and can now be streamed on Netflix. This captivating film explores the diverse aspects of Baltimore’s club music scene and its profound impact on the community. We sat down with the business mogul to learn more about his upcoming projects, goals, and more.

Dark City Beneath the Beat

HypeFresh: How did you create your organization Bmore Than Dance?

Uneek: In some weird way, I like to think the community forced me to. As young adults, we loved our dance and music culture. When I became a sophomore at Morgan State University, I began what I thought was going to be a 1-time event; The King Of Baltimore. The event was a huge success. The community used Facebook and MySpace to demand that I do another show. A second show evolved into this evolving factory of training and mentoring the youth in our culture and many times in life as a whole to help them learn how to monetize it as they grow older as entrepreneurs.

HF: How did you get involved with Dark City Beneath the Beat? 

Uneek: TT The Artist and I connected and the rest was history. We met at her request as she was transitioning here from Florida. She talked to me about her vision and she attended a lot if not all the shows in the early years. We actually made an attempt to film this movie years ago but we ran into some unforeseen events along the way. My story is captured because after our generation’s pioneer K-Swift passed away I was one of few who kept at it with this culture and even elevated it to new heights when our city started to lose hope in making it mainstream. It’s no way I could turn down the opportunity to accomplish what so many people thought would never happen. Then she went and got Issa Rae as an executive producer and I just knew we were on to something special.

Dance Evolution 

HF: Did you believe Bmore Than Dance would evolve like it has?

Uneek: I really have believed for a long time about speaking things into existence. As a kid, I always knew I wanted to accomplish something special. I wanted my mom to see my name in lights. I went to college and graduated for my mom, I also worked on Bmore Than Dance because I knew I had what it takes to make this something to pass down for generations. Growing up, I never knew I would be on the biggest streaming service that I enjoyed watching as a college kid planning the making of this brand, but I always knew we had something special that could captivate the world.

HF: Explain to us your goals for the next 5 years for your organization.

Uneek: 5 years? Brick n Motor Locations In Baltimore, New Jersey, Philly, LA, ATL. National events bring much-needed attention to the Superstar talent we have here at home. Tours, Traveling as the Performing Artist we are, maybe even a Baltimore Club Music Track going platinum with me doing the vocals.

Philanthropy Efforts

HF: What kind of local initiatives do you have? I heard you have teaching demonstrations at the Smithsonian and Kennedy Center

Uneek: Yes, we’re currently booking that for July. We also are partnered with the WaterFront Partnership Of Baltimore all summer for showcases, workshops, dance parties and performances. Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 430pm-830pm.

HF: How did performing alongside artists like Rick Ross and Da Baby come about?

Uneek: We often get booked as a performance group. I’m an Emcee, My djs perform live and the veteran dancers travel with us and perform alongside. We have opened concerts for many artists over the last 10 years. Rick Ross being one of my favorite artists was a lot of fun. We did Coppin State Homecoming and he showed love to the kids. We opened a summer event where Dababy was the headline as his career began to take off. A lot of artists as they rise make a stop in Baltimore and we tend to get booked for a big name performance. It’s been a blessing to represent our culture on the same card as some of the biggest names in the industry.
