Put down those protest signs because the Golden Globes Awards are back from cancelation, this time with a splash.
After its quiet hiatus in 2022, the ‘so white’ Golden Globes are trying to start the year off with a bang. The HFPA faced lots of backlash for its lack of inclusion and diversity. Many winners went as far as returning awards while other celebrities boycotted the Golden Globes altogether.
2023 bring in a new year and with that a better reputation. This year the Golden Globes will include a various amount of A-listers as presentors and headliners including Billy Porter and Rihanna. These fashion changemakers alway serve and leave no crumbs, but will fashion statements be on the for front or will have celebrities moved on.
Fashion has always been a way for the masses to express their concerns of society.
We know ceelebrities do not shy away from the red carpet form AOC ‘taxes the rich’ dress worn at the Met Gala 2021 to Lizzo wearing a dress with the words ‘vote’ at the 2020 Billboard Awards. Fashion is the best tool to cause a stir and evoke change. It takes a special type of person to be bold enough to be faboulus for not only themselves but for others.
Forde expressed curiosity about people’s styling choices and whether they would be bold or more restrained this time.
Celebrity stylist like Rose Forde are really excitied to see what the vibe will be during one of the biggest awards ceremonies of the year. Many designes and stylists are excited to show off just how expansive their clients personal style the people but to what extent.
The organization has been undergoing reformation recently and has welcomed 103 new voters. Among them, 22.3 percent identify as Latine, 13.6 percent as Black, 11.7 percent as Asian, 10.7 percent as Middle Eastern, and 41.7 percent as White. Additionally, 58.3 percent describe themselves as “ethnically diverse.”
But is the math mathing?? If not, resorting to fashion to hold the organization accountable is always a solution. If the stylist want to see them push boundries what better way to do it then honing in on the 2022 Golden Globe contrevrosy.
