Das Wortspiel’s Latest Single “Jolie,” a Bold Step into Experimental Music

Das Wortspiel, the Ukrainian experimental music project, is back with their latest single, “Jolie,” featuring the incredible vocals of Maryana Golovko, also known as SUOK. The duo, consisting of Golovko and sound producer Max Smogol, has been pushing the boundaries of music with their unique fusion of spoken word, ethnic singing, and theatrical performance.

“Jolie” is a bold step forward for Das Wortspiel, incorporating electronic elements and intricate vocal harmonies that create a mesmerizing soundscape. Golovko’s ethereal voice dances around Smogol’s complex beats and ambient sounds, transporting the listener to a dreamlike world.

The track is part of their debut LP, Chapter I, a concept album that explores the themes of identity, transformation, and self-discovery. Das Wortspiel draws inspiration from artists like Anna Clarke, Kate Tempest, and Laurie Anderson, while also incorporating various genres such as lounge, fusion, and field recordings.

With “Jolie,” Das Wortspiel proves that experimental music can be both accessible and captivating, and we can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next.
