Cal in Red returns with their latest single, “Corvette”

Cal in Red is back with their latest single, “Corvette,” which features on their sophomore EP, On The Dance Floor. The music video for the track sees the duo’s grandfather appear alongside his cherished 1975 Stingray Corvette. The song is an upbeat and energetic exploration of healthy aspirations and obsession and an examination of traditional masculinity.

Throughout their EP, Cal in Red explores a range of themes, including anxiety, camaraderie, and the aspirations of the young band. “With Your Hands” has a springtime pop feel, while the EP’s sunny closer combines Dayglow’s “Can I Call You Tonight” and Wallows’ “Quarterback.” “Replay (Lounge)” is a standout track with its atmospheric chorus, blazing horns, and road trip charm, while “Chalk” features a TR909 drum machine and marimba for a playful sound.

Since moving in together in August 2022, Connor and Kendall have been able to put their collective foot on the gas and work on their music with a newfound sense of security and longevity. “It feels good,” says Kendall Wright.
