🌱 Reno H.O.W. 4 Hip Hop Class + Shoulder Closures + Mt. Rose Skiing

Hello, everybody! I’m back in your inbox this chilly spring morning with your fresh edition of the Reno Patch newsletter. Come along to find out the most important things happening these days in town.

    But first, today’s weather:

Cloudy, a shower; colder. High: 42 Low: 30.

📢 I’m looking for business owners and marketers in Reno who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our readers to local businesses they need to know. If that’s you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Reno today:

    1. On Apr. 1, the H.O.W. (hands-on workshop) 4 Hip Hop event for students aged 11-14 will take place from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Reno Public Market. The introductory class, created by Nulyphe Multimedia, aims to introduce hip-hop culture to the youth by integrating technology and curated materials from accredited individuals in the industry. The workshop will cover the five elements of hip hop: MCing, B-boying, graffiti art, DJing, and knowledge of self, allowing students to explore their interests and learn about hip hop as a potential career path. 2. The Nevada Department of Transportation has announced new lane and shoulder closures in Reno for repairs on guardrails, which will be expanded to I-580 and U.S. 395. These lane closures will continue through Mar. 24, subject to weather delays, and may extend into the following week. Drivers should anticipate brief closures on various sections of I-580/U.S. 395 and I-80/U.S. 395 during specific hours of the day and night. (KOLO)
    3. 25 miles from Reno, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is extending its operating hours on Fridays for the remainder of the season, allowing skiers and snowboarders to take advantage of excellent snow conditions and daylight saving time. The Lakeview Express, Wizard, and Magic lifts, along with the main lodge, will remain open until 6:00 p.m., giving guests the chance to take “bonus runs” this spring. The resort is offering a discounted lift ticket of $59 for Fridays after 12:00 p.m., making it an even better deal for visitors. (South Tahoe Now)
