Metro Boomin Confirms Joint Album With Future

Metro Boomin is preparing to release his long-awaited joint album with Future. The Atlanta-based record producer is teasing the project via his Instagram stories, and it looks like it will hit the shelves sooner than later.

The pair last teamed up for their Monster mixtape nearly a decade ago, and it appears that the duo is ready to release something new this year. The producers recently dropped a track featuring Future, and the rapper has since confirmed that it was all part of the plan.

Future and Metro have already collaborated on several songs, including the song “Bounce Back,” which he co-produced with Boomin. In a recent interview with Billboard, Future stated that he and Metro have been working on a new joint album for a while, and it will probably drop this year.

Shamrock Capital Purchases Part of Metro’s Publishing Catalog

Los Angeles-based investment firm Shamrock Capital has reportedly purchased a portion of the production and songwriter catalog of popular American hip hop producer, singer and DJ Metro Boomin for a reported $70 million. Months following the successful release of HEROES & VILLAINS, which secured the top spot on the charts and marked the producer as the first non-rapping artist to achieve a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, the deal has now been finalized.

Earlier this week, Billboard cited a source close to the matter who said that Metro’s sales of his music and accompanying visuals surpassed a $1 billion mark. According to the source, Shamrock Capital purchased a portion of his publishing catalog that includes the production on tracks by artists such as Sean Combs and Big Sean.

The HEROES & VILLAINS album also earned a spot on the Billboard Best-Selling Albums list, which lists albums that sell more than one million copies within their first week of release.

Other notable entries on the Best-Selling Albums chart include Drake’s Scorpion and Taylor Swift’s reputation. However, the best-selling album of the year may be Big Sean and Metro Boomin’s Double or Nothing, which debuted in December 2022 and has sold nearly a million copies to date. The project features contributions from Travis Scott, Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee.
