Men fall in love too. I know, it’s kind of hard to believe. Here are five bops featuring Khalid to prove it.
1. Numb, Numb, Numb, Numb
“I feel like you’re the moon/I feel like I’m the one!” Genius reports, this song is about getting infatuated and getting drunk. It’s a lighthearted jam because boys just wanna have fun too.
2. Time and Place
Khalid himself said, “It’s just a story of searching for something that we all want in life no matter who we are and that’s a real genuine lover, but it doesn’t come easy.” Khalid truly is a melodic genius. Check out that monophony!
Co-written by Billie Eilish, Eilish says the song describes the artists battling depression. As Eilish puts it, “I’m so happy being miserable.” Women are often socialized to be more comfortable with expressing their feelings, and that appears to be true in regards to the two artists’ comments on the duet. Perhaps feelings of stoicism overlap, “heart made of glass, my mind of stone!” Still, Eilish appears to be working on her ability to open-up with interviewers. She explains further, “I feel very lucky to have a strong support system and many outlets (like music and art and you) that help me get through it, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t still struggle sometimes.”
4. Dreamin’ ‘Bout It!
Communication makes real-life better than fantasy. It’s fairly straightforward. “Lend me your thoughts/Can’t get what we want without knowin’!”
5. I Wish You Were Here!
“Yeah, I wish you were here!” Distance makes the heart grow fonder. But, also sometimes men are forced to do things they don’t want to do.
Khalid makes danceable tunes, but his lyrics always have a more profound meaning. Do you only listen to Khalid when you’re fallin’ in love, or does he also soothe your grief? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
