With all the twisted shit coming out on R. Kelly, it’s not shocking that former collaborators would distance themselves from the man.
Among them…none other than the paparazzi queen herself: Lady Gaga.
On January 10th, Gaga expressed her condolences for Kelly’s victims on Twitter, stating:
I stand behind these women 1000%, believe them, know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously. What I am hearing about the allegations against R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible.
She goes on to apologize for a duet she did with R. Kelly back in 2013 called “Do What U Want (With My Body)”. Lady Gaga, a victim of sexual assault herself, states she made the song and video “at a dark time in her life”.As a victim of sexual assault myself, I made both the song and video at a dark time in my life…
According to CNN, Gaga intends “to remove this song off of iTunes and other streaming platforms and will not be working with him again. I’m sorry, both for my poor judgment when I was young, and for not speaking out sooner.”
