The Matrix storyline to be revived?

0

The Matrix trilogy ended in a way that gave some closure to the story, but also in a way that left things open for a potential future tale. Could another movie in the series ever happen? Keanu Reeves says it’s possible. The actor says he’d be willing to return for another film in the series, as long as the writing and directing pair responsible for the original trilogy was willing to do so as well.

The Matrix 4 isn’t exactly a movie that fans are begging for. Having said that, if it was announced that it was coming, people would certainly be interested. The original movie blew audiences away and while the sequels may not have been very good at recapturing that magic, we can’t exactly discount their impact on the movie business. The trilogy was huge and as a big screen spectacle, it was one of the biggest we had ever seen.

One would think that Keanu Reeves, along with everybody else, had moved on, but Reeves tells Yahoo Movies UK that he’d be up fro returning as long as the people who created the franchise were the ones who continued it. Fans of The Matrix would probably agree. While any decision to make a fourth Matrix movie would likely be met with a great deal of skepticism, if the Wachowskis were the ones in charge of it, that would probably go a long way to defusing fan anger. If they have any inclination of exactly what happens next inside the Matrix, it would probably make for a decent enough film.

Even Reeves himself admits that making another Matrix movie would be weird. While the story of the Matrix trilogy does leave the Matrix intact and thus still leaves a possibility of a future story open, at the same time the story of Thomas Anderson, aka Neo, would seem to be over. If there is another One someday, would they necessarily look like Keanu Reeves again or would they be somebody else?

As bizarre as a sequel could be, the idea that people in stories don’t die is certainly an idea that many fans would agree with. The stories that we are attached to resonate with us and the characters that make up those stories feel alive. As long as we have the books or movies then they never really die either.

On March 26, Nike will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1, the sneaker that pushed barriers and took the Air collection to new heights.
Air Max Day Collection Celebration

Stated by Nike “It’s the Air Max that started it all. Originally released in 1987, the Air Max 1 introduced the world to visible Nike Air cushioning. The Tinker Hatfield design was first released in three iconic colorways, including these classic white, red and grey and white, blue and grey combos. The icon returns with its coveted shape. “

L.A. homes powered by Tesla

0

An enormous Tesla-installed power storage facility is up and running at Southern California Edison’s Mira Loma substation in Ontario, California. The facility, announced last fall, holds enough energy to power 15,000 homes for four hours — 80 megawatt hours of electricity with a peak output of 20 megawatts.

It’s designed to reduce the need for “peaker plants” — electricity generation facilities that run when electricity demands are particularly high, such as on a hot afternoon when air conditioners are running full tilt. They’re expensive to install and maintain, especially when in some areas they might only be used for a few hours a day — or even a year.

The 396 Powerpacks that Tesla installed (it acted as its own general contractor) for SCE were all assembled at the company’s Gigafactory in Nevada. Though 80 megawatt hours of batteries might seem like a lot, it’s the same amount of battery capacity that the company puts into its cars in just three or four days of production.

The SCE facility at Mira Loma has 396 Powerpacks, each with 16 pods of batteries inside. Each pod has 12 bricks of cells, and each brick has 85 battery cells. Add ‘em all up and it’s 6,462,720 individual “2170” battery cells, so named because they’re 21 x 70mm cylinders.

In addition to utility-grade storage systems like this, Tesla’s Powerpacks can also be used with solar panels or other small-scale electricity generation to build microgrids, small electrical systems for entire islands or other remote facilities.

Stationary energy storage has the potential to be big business for Tesla. Whether for big utilities like this project, as an alternative to diesel-generator backup systems at commercial or industrial buildings, or by using Tesla’s smaller Powerwall system at residences (a Powerpack is made up of 16 Powerwalls worth of batteries), expect the number of big battery installations to grow. Tesla CEO Elon Musk predicted last year that the battery business would “have a growth rate probably several times that of what the car business is per year.”

While the majority of the battery production at the Gigafactory, which began last month, will eventually make its way into Tesla’s cars, the massive cell production will also drive down costs for stationary battery storage as well, making these sorts of enormous battery projects much more cost effective.

Stationary batteries and the solar panel business that Tesla acquired in the SolarCity acquisition, are just two of the reasons why Tesla Motors changed its name to Tesla last week. It’s not just about the cars anymore.

Drake Talks Grammy’s, Meek Mill, In Surprise OVO Sound Interview

0

Although recorded the day after the 2017 Grammy Awards, Drake’s surprise interview with DJ Semtex premiered on Saturday’s OVO Sound Radio episode. The in-depth interview addresses a variety of topics, including his views on the Grammy’s (no pun intended), his relationship with rappers Meek Mill and Kanye West, and his upcoming playlist More Life.

After being asked about his experiences with racism, Drake criticized the Grammy’s for subjugating his songs “Hotline Bling” and “One Dance” to the rap categories (instead of pop) because of his race. Despite winning two Grammy’s for Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Hotline Bling,” the rapper admits that he wants more recognition for his pop work. “I write pop songs for a reason. I wanna be like Michael Jackson, I wanna be like artists I look up to. Those are pop songs, but I never get credit for that,” he reveals. He further calls out the politics involved with the award show although he applauds Chance the Rapper for his big Grammy wins.

Moreover, Drake addressed the ghostwriting accusations from Meek Mill in great detail, denying the allegation and proclaiming “I am one of the best writers. Period.” When asked by Semtex if the relationship could ever heal with time by using Jay-Z and Nas as an example, Drake responded “I’m not looking to be friends with someone like that. Jay-Z has respect for Nas. I don’t have that for [Meek Mill].”

Drake also opens up about his relationship with Kanye West which seemingly deteriorated following the album version of “Pop Style” not featuring Kanye and Jay-Z. He admits that miscommunication issues and Jay-Z’s lack of a full verse prompted him to finish the solo. Nonetheless, Kanye’s subliminal shots towards Drake regarding his dominance radio prompted the following response: “I think everybody has their own little things going on, I’m not really sure what he’s referring to half the time, because in the same breath, I went from being … like working on a project with him, to him sorta publicly shitting on me and DJ Khaled for being on the radio too much.”

Although there is no official release date for his More Life project, Drake explains its concept to Semtex, considering it as a “playlist” rather than an album. “The style in which its being put together is based on the concept of OVO Sound Radio. It’s almost like a radio show,” he reveals. “It’s more like an evolution of a mixtape. After Views, I was inspired and I wanted to keep the music going and get people inspired”

Google Home Responds to Your Command and Will Roast You!

Comparably similar to Amazon’s Alexa, Google has created their own home and personal assistant device which acts at the command of your voice.

Google Home is like the Siri that has come alive. You can ask it questions, tell it what to do, and ask for help. Partners of Google Home include YouTube, Spotify, Google Play Music, Pandora, Tunein, Google Chromecast, Nest, Phillips, SmartThings, IFTTT, Google Calendar and Google Keep.Google Home Responds to Your Command and Will Roast You (2)

These integrated apps play nicely on the Home and guarantee a simplified experience. In addition to commanding it to play any song of your choice or even asking it a question, such as the ETA of getting to work, Google Home has the ability to connect with any smart home technologies and devices.

For example, you can ask the Home to change or set the thermostat of your house, dim the bedroom lights or even stream your favorite show on your TV with the Chromecast.

To add humor to the topic, Google Home not only responds to your request and commands, but it will also roast and put you in check.

In relation to Amazon’s Alexa, when searching to purchase a product, as opposed to it being shipped through Amazon Prime, it would be expedited through Google Express. While Google Express usually requires users to pay a membership fee or are charged per delivery, Google is waiving those fees with purchases made through Google Home. Users would only need to add a primary payment method and then they would have full access to placing orders by asking Google Assistant.

Google Home Responds to Your Command

Google Home is indeed a home device, so for those worried about whether or not the Home would match the décor of the house, Google Home has crafted a versatile design, allowing owners to customize the base with different colors and finishes.

How HurtBae Video Went Viral

6

If you have a Twitter, you may have seen the hashtag #HurtBae bombarding your timeline the last few days. Who is #HurtBae? If you are still out of the loop, it all began on when The Scene released a video late Valentine’s Day of exes Kourtney and Leonard opening up about their past relationship.

In the emotional video, Kourtney confronts Leonard about his infidelity, asking him why he cheated on her in the first place. She even went as far as to ask him how many times he did the deed, which he responded: “I don’t know…I wasn’t counting.” In other words, too many damn times.

Boy, did Leonard start something. It did not take long for people to take to Twitter to express their thoughts on the subject. Currently, the video has over 200,000 retweets, 444,000+ likes, and way too many opinions to count. #HurtBae has gone viral and I think the reason for that is because of how relatable it is.

Sure, not everyone has been cheated on in a relationship, but I can bet most of us have experienced that feeling of getting hurt or being taken for granted or putting up with bullshit in the name of love. #HurtBae is just a friendly reminder that it can and does happen to all of us.

Twitter has been feeling sorry for this girl, but it turns how #HurtBae ain’t hurt no more. Kourtney took to Twitter to let us know she is happy and on to the next one.

Here Are The Best Songs To Have Sex To

0

For Valentine’s Day, Spotify decided to survey its users’ choices for songs that fit into a playlist related to “sex”–and the list just might upgrade your bedroom game.

The music streaming giant did this for users in several countries including Australia, where they found that either Australians have remarkably consistent senses of humor or weird ideas as to good music to boink to.

The top sexy time song in the Land Down Under? “Cantina Band” from the Star Wars: A New Hope soundtrack by John Williams.

No, we don’t get it either.

But hey, that’s Australia, land of deadly animals and insects around every corner. They need to keep things lighthearted there.

Elsewhere the list of popular 2017 songs used to soundtrack bedroom antics is a little more what you might expect. And—perhaps naturally—a number from Rihanna tops the list:

  1. “Sex With Me” — Rihanna
  2. “Birthday Sex” — Jeremih
  3. “Ride” — SoMo
  4. “Earned It” (Fifty Shades Of Grey) — The Weeknd
  5. “Slow Motion” — Trey Songz
  6. “Often” — The Weeknd
  7. “Neighbors Know My Name” — Trey Songz
  8. “Pony” — Ginuwine
  9. “Sex” — Cheat Codes
  10. “All The Time” — Jeremih

As we’ve noted in the past, one good way to spark a little more action is putting on some music in the first place.

Here, Spotify has simply narrowed down the data for you and put together the beginnings of one very hot playlist which you can order in any way you like.

Social Goes Crazy Over Betsy DeVos- Ruby Bridges Comparison

0

The cartoon came days after protesters in Washington, DC, blocked Betsy DeVos from entering a public school while yelling, “Shame!” Having to enter the building through the side entrance.

The cartoon shows a DeVos being escorted inside a school under heavy guard. Which immediately draws a direct connection between the iconic image of Bridges — the 6-year-old African-American girl escorted by federal marshals into an all-white New Orleans school in 1960— and an incident last week in which protesters temporarily blocked DeVos’ entrance into a meeting at a middle school.

Many criticized Betsy DeVos during her confirmation process, calling into question her advocacy for private schools over public ones, her extreme wealth and complicated web of investments, a history of opposition to LGBT rights, and her stances on Common Core, sexual assault prevention, student loans, and higher education.

There was no way McCoy should have attempted to make that comparison to Ruby Bridges because It shows Bridges being escorted into the New Orleans school six years after the Brown v. Education case declared “separate but equal” public schools unconstitutional. Bridges became the first black child to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South.

However, McCoy’s image of DeVos just invokes an incident in which protesters blocked her from entering D.C.’s Jefferson Middle School Academy. But Betsy DeVos and her handlers eventually found a back door and to attended the event anyway.

McCoy responded to criticism stating, “I thought I was speaking out against hate. It’s a woman passively walking while being protected from angry protesters. Isn’t that what went down the other day when DeVos visited a school to do her job? You may disagree with her on issues but I didn’t see any hate coming from her. I did, however see hate going in the other direction which is what made me think of the Rockwell image. That was the only comparison I was drawing. The level of toxicity in today’s political climate has reached ridiculous levels.”

Still, many view that the connection shouldn’t been made by McCoy because it portrays two different messages and two completely different women.

The NBA Is Offering Fans The Best Seats Through Virtual Reality

Ready to live your dream of sitting courtside at a game for your favorite team without hurting your pockets? Well, The NBA is making it all possible this month.

Starting Feb. 23, a new NBA League Pass will offer a cheaper, on demand option to stream games through virtual reality technology.

Virtual reality (VR) is changing how people experience life and entertainment like never before. Video games. Television. Movies. You name it. These days, you can go anywhere you want and do anything you desire without having to leave the house. No more looking at a flat screen. Virtual reality technology puts you right inside one.

The NBA was the first major American professional sporting league to broadcast their games through virtual reality (VR) and with the on-demand option, fans can now fully experience the game starting at only $7 per game.

Danny Keens, Vice President of content at NextVR and NBA Digital’s partner wants to make this experience worth every cent. “We can’t just be different from television; we have to be better than television and we can’t just be different from being at the game,” Keens said. “We have to be better than being at the game.”

The broadcast team is working to offer you things you couldn’t even get at an actual live game. For starters, you can view the game from every angle, even from underneath the basket (Fact: Tickets are not available for the seats there).

NBA All-Star Weekend is coming up this weekend and NextVR is hooking y’all up with the full game, highlights, and more.

Think it’s worth it? All you need is an NBA League Pass subscription, a virtual reality headset, and the “NextVR” smartphone app, which is free of charge.

Sorry iPhone users, this feature is not available for iOS yet. It is only available on Samsung Gear VR and the Google Daydream handset.

Everything You Need To Know About NBA All Star Weekend 2017

0

Valentines Day has come and gone, now it’s time for the most important holiday in February: The 66th annual NBA All-Star Weekend!

Last year’s event was in Toronto, Canada and was recorded to be the highest scoring game in history with the Western Conference beating the Eastern 196-173. This NBA All Star Weekend is held in New Orleans, which was originally scheduled for Charlotte, North Carolinabut because of the House Bill 2 aka HB2 things didn’t go quite as planned.

HB2 was passed and it limits anti-discrimination protection for the LGBT community. The league made this statement regaurding the move of it’s event “We have been guided in these discussions by the long-standing core values of our league. These include not only diversity, inclusion, fairness and respect for others but also the willingness to listen and consider opposing points of view.”

For the skills competition, we will witness Kristaps Porzingis, DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis and John Wall. On the Western team that starting five includes Stefan Curry, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Anthony Davis.

Everything You Need To Know About (2)

So put those chocolates away and grab some popcorn, it’s about to be an interesting weekend.

LIFE10 Electrolyte Alkaline Water Inks Endorsement-Partnership

0

Roc Nation Sports athlete and NFL draft prospect Leonard Fournette has signed a historic endorsement-partnership deal with New Orleans premier beverage, Life10 Electrolyte Alkaline Water of GavCam Beverages.

As Fournette announces his third partnership since joining Roc Nation Sports, he will also own an undisclosed percentage of the company. Based in New Orleans, Life10 Electrolyte Alkaline Water is distributed and sold in over two thousand stores, including major grocery, neighborhood, and convenience stores across the state of Louisiana.

Lester Zeigler, CEO of Life10 Electrolyte, knew without a doubt that Fournette was the perfect fit to be the company’s first brand ambassador.

“When Leonard gave away his high school MVP trophy to another high school athlete that he thought was more deserving, it showed me that he was a perfect example of superior character and integrity,” said Zeigler.

Fournette has made supporting the city of New Orleans a focal point of his life. As a part of this new endorsement-partnership, Fournette will appear on Life10 Electrolyte limited edition water bottles. In addition, Fournette will take part in Life10 Electrolyte marketing activations of the alkaline water brand beginning this week through OUTFRONT MEDIA billboards and more.

“I’m so proud to announce my new partnership with New Orleans’ own Life10 Electrolyte. This alkaline water is a product I really believe in and drink exclusively to rehydrate, which is why having equity in this company and partnering with them is such a great fit”, said Fournette. “One thing that continues to impress me about my Roc Nation Sports family is the groundbreaking partnership opportunities they continue to bring me, and Life10 Electrolyte is just the latest example. With Life10, I’m excited to promote a fitness-focused, healthy-product based in my hometown.”

Life10 Electrolyte has grown rapidly since its founding in 2016, and Fournette and Roc Nation Sports introduced the possibility of an endorsement-partnership.

“The equity component creates a unique dynamic for him,” said Michael Yormark, President and Chief of Branding and Strategy for Roc Nation Sports. “As we continue to build his portfolio off the field, these are the types of opportunities we want to explore for Leonard. The brands and companies he is working with are the kind we want him to have relationships with for the next 20 years.”

Jeremy Meeks Makes NYFW Debut as a Runway Model

Remember the guy dubbed “Prison Bae” from his mugshot that took the internet by storm a couple years ago? Well, he’s a runway model now.

Jeremy Meeks, shedding his ex-convict past for a future in the fashion industry, has made his debut as a runway model at Phillip Plein’s New York Fashion Week showcase Monday night. Sporting a puffy long black puffy jacket with a fur trimmed hood over a black bomber jacket and motorcycle inspired pants (along with his recognizable tattooed tear drop), the 33 year old newfound model walked in front of a star-studded crowd, including the likes of Madonna, Kylie Jenner, and Paris Hilton.

Meeks was sentenced for a gun possession charge in 2014 but seems to have turned his life around since. Upon his release, he signed with a modeling agency in 2016, amassed an Instagram with nearly 800,000 followers, been seen alongside former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, and now walking in NYFW shows.

Oh, the power of the going viral. We wonder where this will next take Meeks’ career.
