Lamar is an important figure in Black history and remains a role model to many. Lamar’s ability to turn childhood trauma and bad experiences into positive ones makes him a true hero. His 2017 DAMN album won the Pulitzer Prize for music as the organization recognized his genius. The Pulitzer organization praised the album as “A brilliant collection of songs that authentically portrays the diverse and dynamic aspects of modern African-American life.”

    Moreover, this recognition was a huge achievement for Kendrick Lamar and the Black community.
