Vanilla Ice and a Ninja Turtle? Trump’s NYE Party Is Wild

As 2023 ended, former President Donald Trump hosted his annual New Year’s Eve party at his lavish resort in Florida, Mar-a-Lago. The event was a star-studded affair featuring Trump’s family, loyal supporters, and some surprising guests. Among the attendees were Rudy Giuliani, Mike Lindell, and Dick Morris, who mingled with Eric Trump and his wife, Lara. Donald Jr. and Ivanka, however, were nowhere to be seen.

The former first couple, Donald and Melania Trump, made a grand entrance on the red carpet, where they briefly spoke to the media. Trump touched on various topics, such as the conflict in Ukraine, his 2024 campaign, and the state of the economy. He avoided answering questions about Gov. Ron DeSantis and the January 6 riot, instead focusing on his positive outlook for the future.

“We’re doing very well,” Trump said about his campaign, repeating his famous slogan “Make America Great Again.” He expressed confidence in his poll numbers and highlighted his main campaign issues of immigration and the economy.

The night became more exciting when Vanilla Ice, the rapper famous for his 1990 hit “Ice Ice Baby,” took the stage to entertain the crowd. Michelangelo, one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, joined him and danced along. The performance sparked hilarious reactions on social media, with one user quipping,

“Time Zones are weird, guys. Australia is in 2024, California is in 2023, and Donald Trump is in 1992 at a Vanilla Ice concert.”

This was not Vanilla Ice’s first time performing at Mar-a-Lago; he had also headlined the New Year’s Eve party in 2020/2021. He defended his appearance, saying,

“The New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago was awesome. We danced, we celebrated. We had a great time. It’s not about politics at all. This is about dancing and enjoying New Year’s.”

The event, which combined politics and pop culture, gave attendees and online viewers a memorable start to the new year. Trump’s NYE party was a unique experience. People talked about campaign goals. They also enjoyed a performance by Vanilla Ice and his turtle friend.
