Fans: Just give us black stories not just change a character to appear black
Currently, fans have been taking to twitter to protest the idea of just using an existing character but making him black, ie Superman. Unfortunately, the studios was set on making a black Superman film. However, fans suggest, why don’t you just release the existing black stories we already have, ie Static.
Again, the movie is hoping for a release after Milestone’s comic relaunch in 2021.Randy McKinnon will write the script. Michael B. Jordan will be producing the film. Additionally, the actor also brought us, Raising Dion on Netflix. Jordan definitely was inspired by Boseman, and as such, is using his platform to tell black stories. As fans, we are all for it.
“Watching Static Shock as a kid really inspired me. Having that kind of representation at a young age was so important to me, and I know it would be important to many kids today. So, I’m really excited to bring the live-action version of that to life.” – Michael B. Jordan
Jordan said, “I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that.
