Scottie Pippen, who donned the number 33 on his jersey during his time, with the Chicago Bulls now has a poignant connection to that number. Pippen recently expressed his thoughts, on media regarding his son, Antron Pippen who tragically passed away at the age of 33 on Sunday the 18th. Pippen reflects on his son, the game, and the loss of a “beautiful soul, that was his son”
A shared, Love of the Game
“I’m devastated to announce that I recently had to bid farewell to my son, Antron ” expressed Scottie Pippen, filled with sorrow. He further added, “Basketball was something that deeply connected us and we shared conversations, about the sport.” Antron had chronic asthma, and if it weren’t for that, I truly believe he would have reached the NBA.

While, Antron Pippen didn’t play professionally. He did play guard at Texas A&M International University. Ultimately, the young Pippen signed with the Upstate Heat in the World Basketball Association in 2013. Antron seemed to be very much influenced by his father’s legacy. Scottie Pippen’s son had a lot of respect for the game and for his father, former Chicago Bulls star player. Antron Pippen resided in Atlanta where he was a machine tech.
The hall of famer didn’t specify what his son’s cause of death but shares, “I’m proud of the person he grew up to be. Please keep his mother, family, and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Antron had a kind heart and a beautiful soul. He left us too soon, but I know we’ll meet again. I love you, son. Rest in peace.”Antron was born on December 29, 1987, Pippen and his ex-wife Karen McCollum. who were married for a brief period from 1988 to 1990.
