HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “Therapy Shit”?
Rashaad Lee: My single “Therapy Shit” is about healing by speaking on uncomfortable truth’s regarding personal relationships, friendships, and family. It outlines my life’s good, bad, and ugly past events.
I talk about my relationship with my brother, the falling out with two of my best friends, online trolls, and my mother and our current state of being.
I thought of the title by comparing my lyrics to honest life conversations I’ve had with my therapist. It’s a metaphor I use to prepare my listeners for the song’s content.
HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?
Rashaad Lee: What I appreciate most about being an artist is having a voice or a platform to inspire people or give like-minded individuals something to relate to. I feel blessed to have the foundation I’m creating as an artist to continue speaking to people worldwide through my life experiences and music.
