Possible Seahawks and Marshawn Lynch Reunion?

The Seahawks Need A RB ASAP

The Seahawks ran into a number of issues this past Sunday. They unexpectedly lost to the (5-9-1) Cardinals. Along with this, the team’s RB depth took a big hit.

Running backs Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise were both injured in the game against the Cardinals and will be likely out for the remainder of the season. This comes only two weeks after the teams other running back Rashaad Penny tore his ACL.

The Seahawks have clinched a playoff berth and show no intentions of slowing down. This has led to the possibility of a Seahawks and Marshawn Lynch reunion.

Beast Mode Could Be Back In Seattle?

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Peliessero have reported that the Seahawks are interested in Marshawn Lynch as a replacement. During his time with the Seahawks Lynch make a huge impact.

He was able to help lead the team to two straight Super Bowls, and win one of them. Along with this, he was selected to the Pro Bowl four times in his six seasons there. Lynch recorded at least 1,200 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns per season during this four-year span.

What Seattle Can Expect From Marshawn

As the above numbers go to show Lynch was quite impressive when playing for Seattle. After signing with the Raiders Lynch was able to average 4.2 yards per rush over the span of six games with the Raiders last season. Although he wouldn’t be at his best after not playing this season, Lynch would still be a solid addition to the team.

Head coach Pete Carroll seems to feel the same way. Carroll was reported as saying that there is a high probability that Lynch signs with the Seahawks. Another target that the team is going after is former player Robert Turbin.

Although not nearly as talented as Lynch, signing Turbin still would be a good call. Last year Turbin only played in two games. During his three seasons with the Seahawks though he was able to record 928 rushing yards.

    Final Thoughts

The Seahawks have ensured a playoff appearance but they still need to find replacements for their injured running backs. The signing of Lynch would be a big step in helping this situation.

Lynch and Turbin would be able to provide some needed depth at the position. The team’s elite QB, Russel Wilson, could use some help in winning the division, possibly home-field advantage, and hopefully for them a number of playoff games.

What are your guys’ thoughts though? Would you look forward to a Seahawks and Marshawn Lynch reunion? Or do you think Seattle should have their eyes set out on other running backs?
