Orlando Brown, the former Disney star whose life of childhood stardom to rehab for addiction made him a staple of hypefresh headlines, surfaced again with new charges against R&B artist and reality TV star Ray J. According to a video uploaded on Raphouse TV, Brown accused Ray J of giving him the opportunity to smoke marijuana when he was only 13 without his mother’s approval.
“Ray J’s first problem is he did this, he dragged me down to his house, like, I was 13 years old, and smoked weed in the house without my momma’s permission,”
Brown said in the since-viralized clip.
The clip has once again stoked the fierce debate over the manipulation of young Hollywood stars in the early 2000s – but it has also raised questions of credibility, accountability, and the ability of social media to influence the narrative in the court of public opinion.
Brown, who became a star after performing the title character of Eddie Thomas on That’s So Raven, made the declaration on a taped call that made the rounds on the internet almost immediately. The alleged act occurred when Brown was in the midst of his Disney Channel star status between the years of 2003–2007 and being looked after by his mother.
He refused to provide the place and time, nor the names of the witnesses. He described, however, the betrayal he felt Ray J had caused, describing the experience as a negative formative event in his adolescence.
Aside from the cannabis accusation, Brown invoked a larger, yet more incendiary rumor: that Ray J supposedly provided Whitney Houston with spiked cocaine. That assertion, though sensational, had already widely been dismissed as unsubstantiated by the media outlets.
Brown’s public life has been marred by addiction, arrests, and erratic behavior an arc that has made his statements both compelling and controversial. Over the years, he’s issued bizarre accusations against multiple celebrities, drawing both sympathy and skepticism from audiences.
Ray J (real name William Ray Norwood Jr.), best known for his 2005 hit One Wish and his reality TV stints, is no stranger to drama either. Brother to singer Brandy, he’s been involved in numerous celebrity controversies but this new claim adds a disturbing twist to their complex public relationship.
The clip caught fire on X, where users were sharply divided. Some expressed concern and support for Brown, writing things like
“If true, this is heartbreaking. Child stars went through hell”.
Others were more skeptical, pointing to Brown’s well-documented struggles:
“It’s hard to take Orlando seriously anymore,” one user posted. “He needs help, not a camera.”
The allegations have reignited conversations about how the entertainment industry treats its youngest talents and how little oversight exists behind the scenes.
This is not the first time Brown has made attention-grabbing allegations. Past claims involving figures like Diddy and Whitney Houston have largely gone unverified, with some labeled outright conspiracies.
