Nearly two years after the devastating murder of rapper PnB Rock, chilling new evidence suggests that the fatal robbery may have been orchestrated with the help of an insider. The rapper, born Rakim Hasheem Allen, was shot on September 12, 2022, while dining with his girlfriend at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in Los Angeles. The incident, initially seen as a random act of violence, now appears to have deeper, darker roots involving a possible setup from within the restaurant itself.
Surveillance footage from Roscoe’s reportedly shows a restaurant employee greeting PnB Rock upon his arrival and then making a phone call shortly after the rapper and his girlfriend were seated. This brief interaction, paired with the timing of the phone call, has raised suspicions that the employee may have tipped off others about the rapper’s presence. Investigators are examining whether this call may have provided critical information to outside parties, allowing them to prepare for the attack.
Adding to the suspicions, witnesses reported a puzzling 40-minute delay before PnB Rock’s meal was served. Typically known for prompt service, the delay seemed uncharacteristic for Roscoe’s, particularly during a relatively quiet time of day. Some have suggested that this wait might have been deliberate, aimed at keeping PnB Rock in one place while others prepared to rob him. The timeline has sparked further speculation that the delay may have been coordinated to ensure the rapper was still inside when the robbers arrived.
Court documents have also revealed that Freddie Lee Trone and his 17-year-old son were central figures in the plot. According to investigations, the Trones had been tracking PnB Rock, and Freddie’s son ultimately confronted him inside the restaurant. Armed and aggressive, the younger Trone demanded that the rapper hand over his jewelry. When PnB Rock hesitated, the teen reportedly fired multiple shots, fatally injuring him. This violent scene played out in front of the rapper’s girlfriend, adding another layer of trauma to an already horrific incident.
Further complicating the case, Trone’s wife, Shauntel Trone, has also been implicated. Authorities claim she acted as an accessory after the fact, helping her husband and stepson cover their tracks. Following the attack, the younger Trone was detained and remains in juvenile detention facing several charges. Freddie Lee Trone, convicted for his role in the murder and robbery, was recently sentenced to 31 years to life in prison. Shauntel Trone’s involvement is still under review, with sentencing pending.
For PnB Rock’s family, these revelations bring some semblance of closure. The rapper’s fans and loved ones have been seeking answers since that tragic day, and the new insights into the crime’s coordination have added gravity to an already painful loss.
