Angel Victoria Murdock built a picture-perfect online brand around two impressive credentials: a spot in Duke University’s elite Physician Assistant program and a thriving career as a licensed real estate agent. Both, it turns out, appear to have been fabricated.
The 26-year-old, who appeared as a single on Netflix’s 2025 Temptation Island, spent nearly two years posting content that painted her as a hardworking PA student. Scrubs, clinical rotation “get ready with me” videos, study sessions, and even what looked like Duke Health identification all made the rounds. In early August, shortly after the real Class of 2026 graduated, she shared photos of herself in full regalia outside Duke Chapel. The caption celebrated “every late night, every sacrifice, every setback” that led to her “Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies – completed.”
Actual members of that small cohort noticed something was off almost immediately. No one had seen her on campus, in class, or at program events. She was missing from the official class photo. Her name never came up during the two-hour ceremony. The color of her master’s hood didn’t match. Some of her rotation posts closely tracked those of class historian Kiera Brown, whose detailed TikTok breakdown of the discrepancies has since racked up millions of views.
Duke’s response was unambiguous. A university spokesperson confirmed there is “no record of a student by the name of Angel Murdock having applied to or attended the Duke Physician Assistant Program.”
The real-estate side of her story unraveled just as quickly. Murdock maintained a separate Instagram presence as “Angel Murdock REALTOR,” claimed licenses in both North Carolina and Georgia, posted property listings and client closings, and talked about pulling in as much as $7,200 a month. One 2022 post declared she had gotten her license the previous September and been “grinding ever since.”
Neither state’s licensing database lists her. The brokerage she said she worked for, Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate, said it never employed anyone by that name. She also used the protected “REALTOR” title without belonging to the National Association of Realtors.
An earlier claim of a double major in psychology and biology from UNC Charlotte didn’t hold up either. The university confirmed she attended but left without graduating.
Murdock has deactivated her main Instagram and TikTok accounts and has not publicly commented. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say she is not under investigation at this time.
The episode lands at a moment when the line between carefully curated influencer narrative and verifiable reality continues to blur. For a reality TV personality who sold the idea of beauty-plus-brains, the gap between the story she told and the paper trail has become the story itself.
