Regardless if you like mumble rap or not, it is still a form of artistry.
The competitive nature of hip-hop has always been necessary to bring out the best in an artist. However, over time, it can be blurred and turn that competitive nature into real life issues.
Hip-hop continues to thrive off of some of the best rappers go toe to toe for the claim of being the best. When this tends to happen, it divides fellow artist forcing them to take sides. Thus, leaving us to question what beef does to the Hip-Hop community.
One of the biggest Hip-Hop beefs in 2018, has been the between long-reigning female emcee Nicki Minaj and newcomer Cardi B. Just about every media outlet has been immersed in promoting the drama between the two.
With the recent increase in the dispute between both rappers, artist Lil Yachty decided to give his two cents on the issue. From the gate, Yachty pledged his loyalty to Cardi B throughout the ongoing dispute of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. Yachty explained that it wasn’t on a personal level, but more so for the best practice of business. This news comes right after he dropped his anticipated surprise mixtape Nuthin’ 2 Prove.
Currently, Yachty is signed to Quality Control Records, which also manages Cardi B and Offset. On BET’s late night show Raq Rants, Lil Yachty made it public that he has no choice. During the interview, Yachty also implied that even if he had the opportunity to work with Nicki he would have to turn it down.
