During a recent studio session, Lil Uzi Vert took a dip in Nav’s pool. Apparently, he lost his balance and accidentally fell into the water.
Luckily, NAV caught the funny moment on video and posted it to social media. The Canadian rapper shared footage of Uzi attempting to jump into an island in the middle of the pool, only to slip and fall. Watch the clip below.
Lil Uzi Vert & Nav’s “Just Wanna Rock” Hits Billboard’s Top 10
It’s been a big week for Lil Uzi Vert and his hit single, “Just Wanna Rock.” The MCVertt and Synthetic-produced track is now the Philly rapper’s sixth Top 10 entry and is the third highest-charting song of the year. It has also recently been cited by DJ Drama as the anthem for the city of Philadelphia, overtaking Meek Mill’s time-tested album opener, “Dreams & Nightmares,” as the unofficial anthem of the home of the Eagles!
The best part is that it happened during a studio session with longtime friend and fellow Philadelphian, NAV. The Demons Protected by Angels rapper posted footage of the moment on his Instagram page this week and shared it with a sweet caption: “Caught Uzi slippin leaving my studio last night.”
Lil Uzi Vert & Nav’s Relationship
As Lil Uzi Vert celebrates the success of his “Just Wanna Rock” song, he’s also dealing with contract disputes. Among the people who have been helping him deal with these issues is Canadian rapper Nav, who just released a new video featuring the Generation Now artist.
In the clip, Nav and Uzi are hanging out in his backyard swimming pool. They seem to be enjoying themselves.
The two rapped together on some of the singles from Nav’s Perfect Timing project with Metro Boomin in July. They also collaborated on a song from Uzi’s debut Luv Is Rage 2 in 2017.
NAV posted the video on Thursday, writing, “Caught Uzi slippin leaving my studio last night.” He added the caption, “This is why I never go out without a dap on my ass!” The footage shows Uzi trying to jump onto a platform in the middle of the pool, but his footwork doesn’t work and he ends up falling butt first into Nav’s pool.
Lil Uzi Vert & Nav’s Contract Dispute
Lil Uzi Vert and Nav have been involved in some major contract disputes. Apparently, they’re both having some major issues with their record labels, Generation Now and Roc Nation.
After releasing a handful of hits that quickly catapulted him to stardom, the Philly rapper is reportedly feeling exploited by his label. TMZ reports that Uzi is trying to renegotiate his deal with Generation Now.
Meanwhile, Nav recently released a video of him slipping in his pool and calling out his label for not clearing his verse. He also took to Instagram to talk about his rift with DJ Drama and Don Cannon.
While it may be fun to watch the video, Nav’s comments have drawn some serious backlash. It’s unclear how the situation will be resolved.
Lil Uzi Vert & Nav’s Resurgence
Uzi is proving to be an all-around phenom, taking part in a star-studded Grammy Awards 50th Anniversary Hip Hop Tribute with Baby Pluto and launching his new “Just Wanna Rock” into Billboard’s Top 10 this week. He also recently took over the streets of Philadelphia with his anthem, which is reportedly now supplanting Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” as the city’s official song.
This resurgence came at just the right time for Uzi, who is already getting his career back on track after a contract dispute with Generation Now, and a recent trip to Hollywood. Now, he’s released another video for his song “Ps & Qs,” which takes viewers on a trip through his inner thoughts, accompanied by a touch of Japanese animation from director Yashxana.
The video shows a pair of rappers walking past Nav’s backyard pool, when they suddenly divert their path and jump into the water. Fortunately, they aren’t drenched, but they have to be laughing pretty hard after slipping in.
