Leaked Footage Shows King Von Admitting to More Than Five Bodies on OBlock

A leaked video has emerged, with the late Chicago rapper King Von confessing on camera in his OBlock neighborhood that he had been responsible for more than five murders. The widely circulated footage on social media has rekindled controversy on the link between drill music, street violence, and the feuds that may have contributed to his fatal 2020 demise.

Born Dayvon Daquan Bennett on August 9, 1994, King Von was a rising star of the drill music scene, with his gritty tales and raw, vivid descriptions of life on the South Side of Chicago. He was deeply connected with OBlock, the name for the Parkway Gardens public housing complex at 64th and King Drive in Englewood, a neighborhood known for gang activity and as the breeding ground for rappers like Chief Keef and Lil Durk. Von’s debut album, Welcome to O’Block, which was released shortly before his tragic death, peaked at number five on the Billboard 200, securing his legacy.

In the leaked video, believed to be from a live stream or vlog, King Von is seen on OBlock casually chatting with friends. He reportedly says,

“I got more than five bodies, for real,”

followed by laughter. While the video’s authenticity remains unverified, its viral spread has amassed millions of views, fueling both fascination and controversy. Some fans view it as proof of Von’s street credibility, while others condemn it for glamorizing violence and worry about its impact on victims’ families and ongoing legal matters.

The admission ties into long-standing speculation about Von’s involvement in Chicago’s gang conflicts, particularly between OBlock (affiliated with the Black Disciples) and rival factions like the Gangster Disciples and STL/EBT. His lyrics, such as in “Demon” from Welcome to O’Block where he raps, “Four plus three, three plus two,” hint at a body count possibly reaching 12, though it’s unclear if this reflects personal actions or collective gang exploits.

A 2023 documentary, King Von: Rap’s First Serial Killer by Trap Lore Ross, claimed he was linked to ten murders, citing incidents like the 2012 killing of P5 from Jaro City. However, these allegations lack legal backing—Von faced a murder charge in 2014 but was acquitted in 2017—and have been fiercely contested by his family and supporters.

These feuds may have played a fatal role in Von’s life. On November 6, 2020, he was killed at age 26 in a shooting outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident stemmed from an altercation between his crew and that of rapper Quando Rondo, tied to the rival Never Broke Again collective.

According to police reports, the clash escalated into a gunfight, leaving Von with multiple gunshot wounds. Two others died, and several were injured. Timothy Leeks, aka Lul Timm, an associate of Quando Rondo, was charged with Von’s murder but released on a $100,000 bond in March 2021 after claiming self-defense. As of March 31, 2025, the case remains unresolved, with no trial date set, leaving fans and family seeking closure.

“We ask people to honor Dayvon’s memory as an artist and father, not these unproven stories,”

a spokesperson for Von’s estate said, addressing the footage and documentary backlash. Community leaders in Englewood, meanwhile, lament the video’s potential to reinforce negative stereotypes.

“This isn’t progress—it’s a cycle we need to break,”

one organizer told local media.
