The drama between Alabama Barker and Bhad Bhabie (aka Danielle Bregoli) continues, and it is now attracting big stars, including Kanye West, Tyga, and Soulja Boy. The beef, which started off as a personal disagreement between teen celebrities, is now an all-out entertainment drama, replete with diss tracks, drama-stirring accusations, and AI-stirring drama. Kanye West now makes it quite plain: he is in no mood for it.
The drama started in late 2024 when Bhad Bhabie went public about being romantically involved with her son’s dad, Le Vaughn, and accused Alabama Barker, daughter of drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182, of being in a relationship with her son’s dad. The drama boiled over in January 2025 when Bhad Bhabie released a diss track, titled Over Cooked, in which she claimed Barker dated rappers Tyga and Soulja Boy. She went so far as to make a surprising statement on her podcast stating Barker got pregnant by Tyga and subsequently had an abortion.
No time was wasted on Alabama Barker in responding, releasing Cry Bhabie, an album denying Bhad Bhabie’s accusations as baseless and challenging her credibility. The exchanges between these celebrities sparked music industry and public interest, which resulted in a heated online debate.
The drama continued in an unexpected direction when Bhad Bhabie followed it up by releasing another diss track, Ms. Whitman, which sampled CARNIVAL, a song off of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 1 album.
Speculation arose that Kanye West sanctioned the beef, which his rep quickly dismissed. In an Instagram Stories post, West clarified that though he cleared the sample for Ms. Whitman, he didn’t have a idea about the circumstances of the track, nor about the beef. “Me, I am in the middle of none of this AI beef, people using my voice on tracks, all this CARNIVAL sample. I just talked to Travis Barker. I would never be in the middle. I have no idea what is occurring. I just got a track and asked about clearing the sample.”
West expressed his discontent further about AI manipulation of voices, stating his verses in this beef as completely fictional. His concerns point towards an emerging issue of using content developed by AI in an unethical process in the industry.
The complaints made by Bhad Bhabie against Alabama Barker accused not only Kanye West, though—but well-known rappers Tyga and Soulja Boy, as well. The two celebrities quickly denied ever being in a relationship with Barker.
Tyga dismissed the reports as “ridiculous”, stating that he had never been in a relationship, of whatever sort, with Alabama Barker. Soulja Boy concurred in this view and went a bit further, making a threat of legal action against Bhad Bhabie for defamation.
Legal threats hanging over its head and tensions rising, there is little chance of this feud dying down. Social media users and fans have taken sides, and debates have been raging on such online platforms as TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter.
Kanye West’s frustration about AI-made voice manipulation is just a piece of a wider debate about threats of artificial intelligence in Hollywood. With existing AI technology, it is now easier than ever for celebrities’ voices to be imitated, which can pose threats of misrepresentation and misinformation.
In this regard, West’s voice appears to have been utilized without his permission, which poses questions of ethics and law in relation to digital impersonation. The incident serves to reinforce calls for regulations of AI-produced content in music and other fields.
