Rod Wave has officially claimed the title of the highest-certified rapper to come out of Florida.
The St. Petersburg native has now accumulated 115 million total RIAA-certified units, according to a major update from the Recording Industry Association of America. The milestone comes after he was awarded 59 new certifications on Aug. 31, pushing him past both Kodak Black and the late XXXTentacion.
The new plaques also make Rod Wave the only rapper to release six consecutive Platinum-certified albums since 2019 — a rare streak of consistency in the streaming era. His total of 115 million units places him among the top 35 most-certified artists of all time and inside the top 10 rappers by RIAA metrics.
The Florida artist’s catalog continues to deliver. The latest certifications span both newer tracks and older material, underscoring the staying power of his music. One standout upgrade noted in the batch was “Richer” featuring Polo G, which climbed to 6x Platinum status.
Born Rodarius Marcell Green, Rod Wave has built his career on a distinctive blend of melodic rapping and singing that has connected strongly with fans. He first broke through with the viral success of “Heart on Ice” and has since delivered a steady run of commercially successful projects. Albums including SoulFly, Beautiful Mind and Nostalgia all debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while Last Lap continued his streak of strong first-week performances.
The certification news arrives as his latest project, Don’t Look Down, is on track for a potential No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200, which would mark another major chart achievement for the singer-rapper.
Florida has produced several of hip-hop’s biggest commercial forces in recent years. With this latest RIAA update, Rod Wave now stands alone at the top among the state’s rappers by certified units — a significant marker of both his individual success and the depth of his catalog.
