    Jemele Hill, Marsai Martin Host ‘Soul Of A Nation’

    ABC’s New Series on Black Life  

    ABC’s ‘Soul of a Nation’ will exhibit Black life in America. The show will feature Jemele Hill, Marsai Martin, and a plethora of guest hosts.

    ABC dedicates itself to continuing the conversation around Black life in America long after Black History Month ends. Beginning this March, ABC’s Soul of a Nation will cover themes like spirituality, Black joy, activism in sports, and the nation’s racial reckoning following George Floyd’s death.

    Series Special Guests

    The six-episode series will include a wide pool of reporters, performers, activists, and scholars. In addition, different guest hosts will introduce each episode. So far, the guest hosts announced for the first two episodes of the series are Jemele Hill and Marsai Martin.

    A number of ABC News anchors and correspondents will also be contributing to the series. T.J. Holmes, Sunny Hostin, Janai Norman, and others are listed guests.

    Series Producer and Creator Respond

    Co-executive producer Eric Johnson expressed his excitement in a recently released statement:

    “We’re thrilled to extend Black storytelling and celebrate Black culture beyond February. People from all backgrounds will be moved, educated, and inspired by the diverse stories and topics shared on this show.”

    Marie Nelson, the series creator, stated, “ABC News is proud to partner with ABC Entertainment for ‘Soul of a Nation,’ a prime-time show for diverse audiences.” It’s 2021, and the media must provide more opportunities for Black viewers to see their lives reflected in all its complexity and offer access points for understanding to all our audience.”

    ‘Soul of a Nation’ will air Tuesday nights on ABC next month.
