    Tributes are being paid to the popular comedian after his wife Laura revealed he had died in the hospital on Friday. The comedian, who formerly co-hosted Frank Skinner’s Absolute Radio show, had been in a car crash on March 27 and suffered severe brain injuries.

    In a statement shared on social media, his wife revealed he had been hospitalized since the crash. He passed away due to injuries on Friday afternoon.

    Gareth Richards, a successful stand-up comedian, was the victim of an automobile accident on the M25 highway close to Heathrow Airport. He suffered severe brain injuries and received treated in an intensive care unit.

    Near Heathrow Airport, a car accident occurred on the M25 between Junctions 14 and 15. Police asked any possible witnesses to come forward.

    His family and friends have been paying tribute to the popular comic and mourning his sudden death.

    After the accident, his life prolonged briefly on life support, and his doctors did their best to keep him stable. However, the most recent scans showed that his injuries were so severe, they had to stop giving him any supporting medications.

    The comedian’s wife, Laura, posted the following on social media to share the news:
    “We are so grateful for all of your support and kindness at this time. We can never repay it and I know that Gareth will be missed greatly.”

    The fatal car crash shocked the internet

    Skinner, who hosts a podcast called The Frank Skinner Show, was emotional as he announced the news of his friend’s death. He broke down in tears as he told his listeners that he was in hospital fighting for his life following the accident, adding that he had “serious brain injuries”.

    his wife, added: ‘We are so devastated by this devastating news and would like to thank everyone for their love, support and kind words, particularly our sons who are coping well at the moment.’

    Adam Kay, a comedy writer who worked with Richards on The Frank Skinner Show, showed his respect online. Kay posted a photo of him with the British comedian at the London Comedy Festival in 2014.

    Adam Kay described Richards as an ‘almost unique eulogy for a comedian that every single person they met had something to say about him.’

    Fellow comedian Jason Manford also shared a photo of himself with Richards on Twitter. In the post, he wrote “It is very sad to hear that he has passed away.” He also added: “Gareth was such a wonderful and inventive comic.”

    Known for his observational comedy and sharp one-liners, Mr Richards appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News and 4 Stands Up. He also performed in his first solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010. He received a nomination for the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer prize that year.
