Artists often make promises and understandably get called out when they fail to hold up their end of the bargain. Recently, T-Pain went on record with The 85 South Show and claimed that Nicki Minaj never followed through with their plans to work together in 2007. However, Nicki had no problem issuing an apology.
“We was about to work together and she stopped responding,” T-Pain explained. “I asked Nick to keep me updated. She responded, ‘Hey, I’m also an artist and focused on my own work, so just relax, baby.’ And I felt a mix of emotions… My heart.” Maybe I was in love with Nicki Minaj.”
Regardless of his sentiments, T-Pain was certain the move wasn’t anything “malicious.”

After seeing T-Pain’s interview, Nicki Minaj quickly addressed the failed attempt at a collaboration in The Shade Room‘s comment section and kicked herself for not taking T-Pain up on the offer at the time. Square Enix had their presentation for E3 on. During the presentation, the company announced some exciting, emerging games. Here’s the top 5 releases announced by Square Enix in 2021.
1. Guardians of the galaxy (Square Enix)
Description
It’s a story-driven single-player game that tells its own “Guardians of the Galaxy” narrative which is different from film and comics. Players control Peter Quill, also known as Star-Lord, as he leads his team on an adventure. This version of the Guardians have been together for a few short weeks and they’re running short on funds. It will be a team combat story based game.

2. Life is strange: True Colors (Square Enix)
Description

Description
A reimagining origin spin off of the Final Fantasy franchise. Not much has been released but there is a trial version that is available that is accompanied by a survey to improve upon the game.

Description
Babylon’s Fall is an RPG set in a high fantasy world that lets you fight powerful enemies and bosses while exploring the mysterious Tower of Babylon. In this fantasy epic, players can create your character, defeat gigantic foes, collect loot, and craft equipment to customize your own build and play style!
Negative Reception
Babylon’s Fall was first announced at Square Enix’s E3 conference in 2018, where it was confirmed for PS4 and PC. However, since then, very little was given but PlatinumGames assured fans last year that the game was still in development. However, when it finally got previewed, the game was met with negative critcism.
So why the bad reception?
A bad trailer: the trailer featured weird voiceovers, no sound effects and annoying loud singing which may not be what fans were hoping for.

Coinciding with the game release, Nintendo will also release a set of amiibos for Metroid Dread. According to Game Stop, the amiibos released will be a Samus amiibo figure featuring her suit from the Metroid Dread game and an E.M.M.I. amiibo figure. Both are available in a 2-pack set.
How do they work and what new features do they bring? Scan the Samus amiibo for an extra energy tank to increase your health by 100. Additionally, the Samus amiibo can be tapped again to receive health once per day. The E.M.M.I. amiibo grants Samus a Missile+ tank, increasing her missile capacity by 10. Additionally, the E.M.M.I. amiibo can be tapped again to replenish missiles once per day (Game Stop). Metroid Dread drops October 8, 2021.
Mario Party Superstars
The switch game Includes five classic boards from Nintendo 64 Mario Party including Peach’s Birthday Cake and Space Land. There are over 100 mini games from the Mario Party catalog which now support handheld button controls. Now, online play is supported and allows random matches if you can’t play alongside friends. The Mario Party favorite launches October 29th.
Mario Golf: Super Rush
Four new modes will be available to play. First, Standard Golf battle wind and terrain and aim for under par. This mode follows the standard rules of Golf. Second, Speed Golf be the first to get your ball in. Speed golf mode allows players to drive their ball in and then immediately chase after it. But, be quick as others chase down their shots, hoping to finish first. Get yours in first to win. Third, Battle Golf provides obstacles in an arena that you must navigate in additon to playing the game of golf. Finally, Golf Adventure, allows the player to take on challenges and evolve from rookie to pro. Furthermore, additional courses and characters will be added as DLC during it’s release on June 25th.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
The Monster hunter series is an RPG. During gameplay, players ride monster companions, gather materials to craft useful items that may help in your journey. While, players explore, they can encounter many monsters roaming through the land. However, it is difficult to know which are friendly and which are hostile. So, players must exercise a bit of caution.
Beware Ambushes
Avoid ambushes. But if you find your player needing to defend themselves, you and your monster companion can fight back. To fight, the player alongside their monster companion will have to use weapons and skill during turn based battles to win rewards including upgrades.
Co-Op Play is Available
Co-op play is available for additional quests and battles with friends. Look out for this release soon coming July 9th. However, you can preview a demo version on June 25th and carry over save data to the game upon purchase.
Wario Ware: Get it Together
Control Wario and all the traditional characters return. Play mini games. Co-Op and single player mode available. During these 5 second micro games, players have to complete simple tasks like unplugging a drain, spinning a windmill, tweezing body hair, and dodging pigeon poop. Wario Ware launches September 10th.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC includes Kazuya from Tekken. Nintendo aired a teaser video to start off their direct with a Tekken “crossover” for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Kazuya’s appearance and fighting style is top notch and will be a great addition to Super Smash Bros. Kazuya joins the arena June 28th.
Fighters Pass DLC for Smash Bros. Ultmate. Nintendo will most likely reveal one more character before the Dec. 31, 2021 deadline to include in the Fighters Pass DLC.

Rapper Polo G was arrested for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest with violence, and causing property damage.
Based on a Miami Herald report, the 22-year-old rapper was arrested at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after an altercation with a police officer during a 1 a.m. traffic stop on Saturday (June 12).
The Miami Police Department is aware of the Polo G incident involving another male juvenile. Updates will be provided as they become available.
According to the documents, Bartlett displayed aggression while resisting arrest in downtown Miami. While the officer was trying to handcuff Polo, the two “ended up in a struggle on the ground.” The officer was allegedly struck multiple times in the head, chin, forehead, and cheek and sustained “multiple injuries.”
The officer instructed everyone in the car to exit so they could be searched for weapons. This was prompted by a passenger’s statement about the vehicle being bulletproof, which raised suspicions of potential firearms.
According to the arrest report, after Polo was in custody he told the officer, “I’ll hurt you. I promise to use my fists to beat you up and knock you out.”
In a video posted to Instagram, Polo G’s mother and manager, Stacia Mac, said that Miami police pulled over her son and his 16-year-old brother while they were riding in a car with security following his album release party.
“My children called me in a panic, saying the police were chasing them with 20 cars,” shared Mac. She added that the police denied her access to her underage son. “They stopped them because they were driving while Black.”

Since the two first announced their spilt, things haven’t gone well for the rapper Kanye West. In fact, just last week he was flipping out on one of the lawyers during a virtual divorce deposition. It’s a known fact that Kanye West suffers from mental illness. Unfortunately, the “Heartless” rapper’s mental health condition has often faced scrutiny and ridicule from the public eye. It just goes to show that people aren’t the most understanding bunch when it comes to mental illness. However, the media published a story on Kanye West flipping out on an attorney during a virtual divorce deposition.
Last week, the rapper was called to an emergency divorce court hearing by MyChannel’s lawyers. Unfortunately, the rapper spent 10 minutes flipping out on the company’s attorney Micheal Popok. According to All HipHop, Yeezy called the lawyer “boy” 12 times and even stupid at one point. Additionally, he evaded MyChannel’s team of lawyer’s questions by playing on his phone and pulling on the Jesus face mask. To top it all off, Kanye West called himself a “mental genius” the entire time. While that may be true, the divorce deposition hadn’t been his best moment.

Despite the fact that Kanye West suffers from a mental disorder, the lawyers at MyChannels didn’t give him a pass. Due to the rap star’s outburst during the divorce deposition, the company now has charged him with $63,000. MyChannel claims that he “purposefully” sabotaged the divorce court hearing. “The Court will consider West’s deliberate attempts to disrupt the deposition as one of the most shocking and inappropriate performances it has witnessed,” one of MyChannel’s lawyers, Ben J. Meiselas said. Unfortunately, it looks as though Kanye West landed himself in some hot water.
Days have passed since Migos released their Culture III album and already people have plenty to say. The record has received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. It goes without saying that Justin Bieber basically loves the rap group Migos. He’s even best buds with their frontman Quavo. It’s not all that surprising that JB hopped on a track with them on their newest album. Furthermore, their collab track “What You See” basically sticks out like a sore thumb. “What You See” comes off as a love ballad, where the rappers and singer assure their lovers of their commitment. With Offset and Justin Bieber being married men, the song speaks more to their individual relationships.

Clearly, the two can’t stop fanboying over each other.

The Philadelphia 76ers are facing the aftermath of a defeat, against Atlanta in Game 4 ending with a score of 100 103. They started off strong, in the three quarters leading by 8, 27 and 2 points. However they struggled to maintain their momentum in the quarter. With 1:17 remaining, Trae Young was able to rally and come back with Hawks and Sixers just couldn’t finish off the game. The Sixers were also without Danny Green who was injured in Game 3, replaced by Furkan Korkmaz. Embiid was hurting due to knee injury and unable to carry the scoring presence that he usually does but manages to get 21 rebounds.

Embiid continued to struggle obviously his knee injury was bothering him and effecting his game. He was 0 for 12 before the end of the second half. After retreating to the locker room, he made a 3. Finishing off with 4 for 20 from the floor, his game just was short of strong with a score of 17 points. Clearly, he was hurting. Yet, something to consider was his agressive defensive game in which he got 21 rebounds which is just as important as scoring. It was a career-high and the only other sixer to accomplish this feat was a Hall of Famer, Dikembe Mutombo. Still the Sixers lose game 4 against hawks.
Moving Forward into Game 5
Although, we fans do love when Embiid is able to score high numbers. Now, it is clear that it needs to be a team effort not a reliance on Embiid. And, that’s not because he should be perfect every time because he is doing his part to the best of his ability. On the contrary, other players need to show up and get them where they need to go. Sixers lost with a 3 point margin that should have easily countered for a regain in the lead. Yet, they just stood in defeat, lose game 4 to hawks. That cannot happen in the next game.
Hopefully, that will not be the case. As the 76ers return home, the hope is that the energy will be high, game playing solid and a team effort that Philadelphia can be proud of. Everyone agrees it cannot go to a game 7. Specially, if Embiid is going to be able to rest his knee before the next round.

School can be tough to navigate for kids these days. Even celebrity kids aren’t immune to the pressures of school and fitting in. Willow Smith certainly experienced her fair share of torment in her school days.
Moreover, the child star spoke with V Magazine about how kids made fun of her for listening to musical acts like My Chemical Romance and Paramore. “[B]eing a Black woman in the metal crowd differs greatly from the pressures the music industry puts on you. Now, there’s an extra pressure from the metal culture, the metal scene, and the rock genre,” the star explained to V Magazine. Clearly, the starlet experienced a difficult time in school. Arguably, anyone should be allowed to listen to whatever they want, including pop-punk music.
The Child Star Embraces Her Inner Rock Star

Fortunately, Willow Smith learned not to listen to the haters. The child star, all grown-up, has embraced her inner rock star. Recently, the actor and singer announced her plans to release “the kind of music she wants to make.”
Offering a taste of what’s to come, Willow Smith just released the rock track “Transparent Soul” featuring Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker. More importantly, she challenged the status quo of the pop-punk scene. “Just through the music that I’m putting out right now and the representation that I can bring to the mix. I just hope that the Black girls listening to my music and album see that there’s more of us out there,” the star told V Magazine. One things for sure, Willow Smith definitely has changed the culture.
The Friends Reunion Special on HBO Max brought us many great moments and insight including why David Schwimmer hated Marcel. An audience member was given the opportunity to ask a question. James Cordon repeated, Was there any you didn’t like while you were shooting the show? Marcel appeared in 8 episodes of friends and Shwimmer thought that was too much.
Initially, James Cordan thought it was a horrible question that was not going to deliver anything good. Boy was he wrong! Apparently, the question offered us some insight to David Schwimmer’s real feelings regarding Marcel, the monkey. It ended up being comedic genius.

Unaminously, the cast agreed with David that the monkey was a problem.
“The monkey,” Jennifer began.
“And the Monkey,” David did not hesitate to admit. Clearly, there’s a story there and he was more than happy to share that with us. Shwimmer had to contribute some more details to why he was not a fan of the monkey.
“The monkey scared me,” Courtney agreed.

“Here was my problem. Obviously, the monkey was trained. It had to hit his mark and do its thing. What started happening was that we all had planned bits with timings, but sometimes they got messed up because the monkey didn’t do its job correctly. So we had to start over and try again because the monkey didn’t get it right.
But, he’s not bitter at all. He continued, “the trainer would come up and just open and give the monkey live grubs to eat. So, the monkey would be sitting on my shoulders, take some grubs, break them in half, eat it and then go like that [grabbing his neck]. So I would have monkey grubby hands all over.”

It begs the question, why they can’t win outright? Honestly, it’s anyone’s guess. However, it does add a bit of drama and excitement to the game when one inning makes the difference to whether the team wins or loses.
Velasquez goes 5 innings before Girardi took him out. Some fans call Vince triple V signifying that he only has 5 innings in him before he messes up and loses his control. It appears that Girardi finally got hip to that pattern. Still, critics wonder why they would take a starter off when the team is up by 5 and leave it in the hands of a shaky bullpen. After the game, Segura spoke about those tied games where everything is on the line, “I really like those tied games on the line, because I don’t know, man. I can’t explain that. I was just born to play this game. …I want to be in that situation all the time.”

In the 10th, Segura singled to third on a 2-0 slider and that was enough to bring torreyes home. Luckily, Segura has manages to be clutch in these situations and has delivered exactly when we needed him to. Contrarily, If he hadn’t, the game would have been a loss so it’s a nice feeling to know that Segura can deliver in high stress opportunities.
Phillies Put Pressure on the Yankees and Catch Some Major Breaks
Not only that, but Jankowski delivered a text book perfect bunt to get on base and stressed out Aroldis Chapman who errored and overthrew. As a result, Jankowski was safe at first. Then, Torreyes sliding home causing stress on Gio Urshela who overthrew the ball just a little but enough for Torreyes to slide in safe instead of an out. It was so close. Putting pressure on the other team is very effective strategy for the Phillies who seem to be catching some major breaks lately.
