Anya Taylor-Joy, the powerhouse behind films like The Queen’s Gambit and Furiosa, doesn’t let things chill down for a minute, as she announces her next dream role-one of Disney’s more iconic ladies: Elsa-in a new live-action musical adaptation of Frozen.
During a recent interview with Vogue Hong Kong, the actress expressed her enthusiasm about possibly portraying the beloved character in a movie. “I think it would be so much fun,” she said. “Elsa is such a powerful and inspiring character.”

Anya has played the most difficult roles, and she is always ready for any role that would demand all kinds of skills: singing, dancing, playing at the same time is an order too high, but just this level of difficulty is what tends to attract her. “I am addicted to hard work,” she admitted, emphasizing her passion for roles that show her at her limits.
With Disney’s current trend for making live-action versions of just about every animated classic between The Lion King and The Little Mermaid, a Frozen live-action really isn’t out of the woods. With the franchise already raking in over $2.7 billion in worldwide grosses and promising so much more with sequels on the horizon, bringing this icy fable into real life with someone like Anya Taylor-Joy at the helm could be a box office fantasy come to life.
Whether Disney decides to take up the idea remains to be seen, but Anya’s excitement definitely piques interest. Her career has been filled with a wide variety of different, challenging roles; taking on the mantle-or rather, the ice-capped boots-of Elsa herself could be the perfect next step in her already impressive path.
