Timbaland Unveils AI Artist TaTa Taktumi in Futuristic Music Video Debut

Grammy-winning producer Timbaland has officially rewritten music history with the debut of TaTa Taktumi, the world’s first fully AI-generated artist to release an original music video. The groundbreaking premiere marks a defining moment in the industry’s evolution toward artificial intelligence-driven creativity.

On October 10, 2025, TaTa Taktumi released her debut single and music video, “Glitch x Pulse,” under Timbaland’s newly founded AI entertainment company, Stage Zero. The high-concept video features electrifying choreography by the legendary Jabbawockeez and a cameo from Timbaland himself.

Set in a Matrix-inspired digital world, the video blurs the line between the human and virtual, as TaTa moves through neon landscapes and pixelated dreamscapes, embodying what Timbaland calls “A-Pop” — short for Artificial Pop.

“TaTa isn’t an avatar or a digital puppet,” Timbaland explained. “She’s a living, learning, autonomous music artist built with AI.”

TaTa’s creation resulted from Timbaland’s collaboration with the AI music platform Suno, where he serves as a creative advisor. The process involves uploading Timbaland’s original demos into Suno’s system, which then expands the compositions using AI-generated vocals layered over human-written lyrics.

Her distinctive voice emerged serendipitously during one of these sessions. “It came to a point where I’m like, ‘Yo, this voice — it’s amazing,’” Timbaland recalled.

Musically, “Glitch x Pulse” bears Timbaland’s signature sonic fingerprints: sharp, minimal 808s under rap verses that morph into an atmospheric pop chorus. Lyrically, the track embraces a futuristic aesthetic with lines like “I pulled up in that spaceship,” interspersed with intentional audio “glitches” that mirror the AI concept.

Having earned four Grammy Awards from 21 nominations, Timbaland has long been a trailblazer in production innovation. His new venture, Stage Zero, launched in June 2025 alongside film producer Rocky Mudaliar and AI strategist Zayd Portillo, aims to reimagine the entertainment landscape.

“I’m not just producing tracks anymore,” Timbaland said. “I’m producing systems, stories, and stars from scratch.”

Beyond music, Timbaland envisions TaTa evolving into a virtual influencer, potentially appearing in film and television projects.

He also believes that AI can revitalize creativity in an industry he considers “bland” and “boring.” As he put it, “AI is the only thing that has a pure soul right now.”

The launch has sparked intense debate across the music world. Critics argue that AI music lacks emotional authenticity, questioning whether digital artists can evoke real feeling. One Instagram user commented, “Where’s the inflection? The emotion? The delivery?”

Supporters, however, hail the move as a creative revolution. The Jabbawockeez co-founder defended the project, saying the public is “behind” in accepting technological evolution, while fellow producer Swizz Beatz responded with fire emojis — signaling approval and excitement.

With over 200 ASCAP Music Awards and production credits for Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, and Beyoncé, Timbaland’s endorsement of AI artistry lends unprecedented credibility to the movement.

Stage Zero’s leadership believes the future of music will merge human creativity with digital autonomy. Mudaliar stated, “The artists of tomorrow won’t just be human — they’ll be IP, code, and robotics that are fully autonomous.”

If Timbaland’s track record is any indication, the debut of TaTa Taktumi and “Glitch x Pulse” could represent more than a novelty — it might signal the dawn of an entirely new musical era.

“This isn’t the end of music as we know it,” Timbaland said. “It’s the start of something even bigger.”music as we know it — it’s the start of something even bigger.”
