Compton rapper YG, a staunch Kanye West supporter, has made his views on President Donald Trump clear. In 2016, he released “FDT” with Nipsey Hussle as a protest song. YG continues to criticize Trump, smashing a Trump pinata on stage and giving out “F- Donald Trump” bagels in Compton through his nonprofit, 4 Hundred Waze.
Donald Trump’s mugshot T-shirts
Now, YG and his label 4HUNNID have launched a t-shirt lineup. The shirts feature Trump’s booking photo from his recent election interference case, along with the slogan “never surrender.” Sales profits are said to support Trump’s 2024 campaign.
Using Trump’s mugshot as a design isn’t surprising, as it’s a popular internet meme. The shirt displays a blurred version of the photo with the word “FUCKED” in bold red underneath. The T-shirt comes in black or white, with regular and slim fit options.
YG has been active since Nipsey Hussle’s passing, honoring him at a memorial service and delivering a powerful speech. He considers Nipsey a “brother from another color” and vows to continue advocating for minority rights. The rapper isn’t shy about expressing his political beliefs during concerts.
Earlier this year, he ejected a fan from the stage for disrespecting the President. YG’s fans appreciate his bold stance and are showing their support by pre-ordering his t-shirts, available in May and at his live shows. Catch him at various festivals this fall.
YG’s outspokenness against Trump isn’t new, but it’s clear he’s determined to use his platform to make a statement. The Donald Trump mugshot T-shirt line serves as another example of his activism alongside his music.
