LL Cool J, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee

LL Cool J Gets Inducted into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

LL Cool J joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 as a musician.

The Rock Hall website categorizes the 13 honorees into four groups: Performer Category, Early Influence Award, Musical Excellence Award, and Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Not only is Hip Hop mogul JAY-Z being inducted under the Performer Category, LL Cool J finally earned his rightful spot in the Musical Excellence category. After six nominations, the legend is getting his just due.

The Hip Hop Legend Turned Actor Reacts

LL Cool J, the Rock The Bells icon, expressed his joy on Instagram after learning about the list of inductees.

“You can achieve anything with determination,” he wrote alongside a picture of the announcement. “Thank you.”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Chairman Praises LL

As a member of a distinguished class of nominees, Chairman John Sykes acknowledges the mark LL Cool J made on the culture.

“This amazing group of inductees represents the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s dedication to honoring artists who shaped youth culture with their music,” stated John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “The upcoming Induction Ceremony in Cleveland this October will be an unforgettable live celebration of music.”

“In the past, that was sufficient for me,” he wrote. “But this year is unique. I’m speaking not in my official role, but as a long-time fan of Hip Hop since the 1980s. It was important for me to publicly support my colleague LL COOL J, who is one of this year’s nominees and with whom I’ve collaborated for many years.

Despite being eligible for induction since 2010 and receiving nominations six times, Mr. James Smith has never been voted into the Hall of Fame. This failure highlights the shortcomings of many HOF voters.

The Rock Hall induction ceremony will happen on October 30 in Cleveland, Ohio at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. It will be televised on HBO and streamed on HBO Max at a later date, ensuring safety and accessibility.

LL Cool C’s Outlook for The Future

More importantly, legends never feel like they have completely reached their limit. When asked what else he wants to achieve, LL Cool J expressed his commitment to the culture.

“You know what? I think the priority now is to lift up the culture through Rock the Bells, really lift up hip-hop and all these artists that either came before or after me. That’s the priority. The secondary goal is to create a music project that people can really, really respond to. I just want to make a contribution to the culture artistically. That’s the secondary goal. The priority is Rock the Bells. The secondary goal is to make a contribution to the culture through this project. That’s it.”

With an album and another season of NCIS: Los Angeles LL Cool J is giving fans more to look forward to.
