Lil Wayne’s No-Show at Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz Explained

Lil Wayne’s absence from the highly anticipated Cash Money vs. No Limit Verzuz battle at ComplexCon Las Vegas last weekend left fans wondering — and now, fellow rapper B.G. is setting the record straight.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club on October 31, B.G. revealed that the Tha Carter rapper was forced to pull out of the event after experiencing health issues that required medical attention.

Why wasn’t Wayne there? That’s the question everybody [was asking],” B.G. said. “I talked to Wayne the morning before the Verzuz, and shorty wasn’t feeling good, man. He had a concert that same night, and he canceled that as well.

According to B.G., Wayne’s illness came suddenly, just hours before the star-studded showdown between two of hip-hop’s most iconic labels.

“He told me that he wasn’t feeling good and had to go to the hospital or something like that,” B.G. shared. “People be thinking it was whatever, but at the end of the day, like I told him, man, Wayne ain’t no spring chicken no more. You gotta make sure your health is good and get your rest. You’ve been running 30, 35 years strong.”

The Verzuz event — which took place on October 25, 2025, at ComplexCon Las Vegas — drew huge crowds eager to see Cash Money Records and No Limit go head-to-head. Lil Wayne’s absence was particularly noticeable given his legendary status as Cash Money’s biggest star.

B.G. also said that Swizz Beatz, co-founder of Verzuz, was “hurt” by the last-minute change. “Swizz was even hurt behind it. Because for real, that’s the reason Swizz pulled the trigger on it — because Wayne agreed,” B.G. explained, noting how central Wayne’s participation was to making the event happen.

The situation was compounded by Wayne’s cancellation of his scheduled Drai’s Nightclub concert that same evening, which B.G. described as evidence of the seriousness of the rapper’s condition. “He canceled that as well… you know, people thought it was something else, but nah, shorty wasn’t feeling good,” B.G. reiterated.

Lil Wayne’s recent health concerns have become increasingly noticeable. Earlier this year, in August 2025, he canceled a show in Toronto at the Budweiser Stage due to an “unforeseen illness,” followed by another cancellation in Oklahoma City the next month.

When asked whether Wayne would participate in the rumored Cash Money–No Limit joint tour, B.G. remained cautious. He said he could not confirm Wayne’s involvement at this time, emphasizing instead the importance of prioritizing health and longevity.

Like I told him, man, we ain’t spring chickens no more,” B.G. concluded. “You gotta make sure your health is in order and get your rest. You’ve been running 35 years strong, so you gotta make sure your body and health are all the way intact.
