J.cole and Puma just dropped a short-film/tv commercial to announce their partnership!!
J.cole and Puma announced a multi-year partnership that gives the rapper an official deal as a sponsored athlete. The news comes as Puma gears up to release its latest basketball sneaker- The Puma Skydreamer.
A was posted to J.cole personal youtube page and Pumas Instagram. Cole came up with the concept and Co-directed the video in conjunction with Puma.
Cole, who is an avid basketball fan and former high school player himself, is a bridge between hip-hop and hoops. The North Carolina native has participated in the celebrity all-star game multiple times and makes constant references to basketball in his music. For Puma, the deal was a no brainer.
In a statement Global director of Puma, Adam Petrick had this to say about the deal.
“Cole’s involved in product creation, marketing campaigns, and cultural guidance. He is going to be a key player in many of the things we do at PUMA moving forward, and we’re excited to work with him not only on a product level but even more importantly as one of our athletes. Cole sits at the intersection of music and sport and represents everything that PUMA stands for as a brand.”
In addition to being apart of Puma’s basketball line releases. Cole will have his sneaker line and brand named Dreamer that is dropping later this year.
