Pras Michel convicted of political conspiracy
The trial began in early 2022 and focused on Pras’s involvement in an alleged scheme to deposit foreign money into the 2012 U.S. presidential election. Prosecutors argued that Pras, Malaysian businessman Jho Low, and former Justice Department official George Higginbotham conspired to use Low’s funds to make illegal campaign contributions to a political action committee supporting President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.
