Fat Joe Sued for $20M After Explosive Claim He Abused Teen Girls, Says Ex-Hypeman

Grammy-nominated rapper Fat Joe, born Joseph Antonio Cartagena, faces a $20 million lawsuit filed by his former hypeman, Terrance “T.A.” Dixon. The lawsuit, lodged on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, levels grave accusations against the rapper, including claims that Dixon witnessed Fat Joe engage in sexual relations with minors. Spanning 157 pages, the legal document carries a trigger warning due to the disturbing nature of its allegations.

The Lawsuit Details

Dixon, who served as Fat Joe’s hypeman for 16 years, accuses the rapper of a litany of serious offenses:

  • Coercive labor exploitation
  • Financial fraud
  • Sexual manipulation
  • Violent intimidation
  • Psychological coercion

The lengthy professional relationship lends context to Dixon’s claims, though Fat Joe has vehemently denied all accusations, labeling the lawsuit a retaliatory move.

Allegations Involving Minors

Among the most alarming assertions, Dixon claims he “personally witnessed Fat Joe engage in sexual relations with children who were fifteen and sixteen years old.” The lawsuit identifies three minors, referred to as Jane Does:

  • Jane Doe 1: A 16-year-old Dominican girl from New York, allegedly paid with “cash, clothing, and payment of her cell phone bill” for sexual acts.
  • Jane Doe 2: A 15-year-old Caucasian girl, not a U.S. citizen, with whom Fat Joe allegedly began a sexual relationship after an overseas concert. The suit claims he flew her to New York City and Miami multiple times and financed a Brazilian Butt Lift, noting “her body was adolescent and not fully formed.”
  • Jane Doe 3: A Latina female who was 15 when she met Fat Joe. Dixon alleges Fat Joe “was in love” with her, contemplated leaving his wife, and supported her financially, housing her in a condo near his family home.

Additional Allegations

Beyond the claims involving minors, Dixon accuses Fat Joe of further misconduct:

  • Coerced Sexual Acts: Dixon alleges he was forced into performing over 4,000 sexual acts to retain his job, often under duress, surveillance, and threats of abandonment in foreign countries.
  • Financial Misconduct: The lawsuit claims Fat Joe committed wage theft and denied Dixon royalties for songs he contributed to, alongside using his sneaker store and clothing brand, UPNYC, as a front for laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  • Intimidation Tactics: Dixon alleges veiled death threats and messages like “You love your family, right?” and “Fall back in 48 hours” were used to silence him.

The lawsuit also names Pete “Pistol Pete” Torres, Richard “Rich Player” Jospitre, and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation as co-defendants, accusing them of involvement in Fat Joe’s alleged criminal activities and manipulation of Dixon’s royalties.

Fat Joe’s Response

Fat Joe, through his attorney Joe Tacopina, has categorically denied all allegations. Tacopina described the lawsuit as “a blatant act of retaliation” and the claims as “complete fabrications — lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure.” He emphasized that law enforcement knows an “extortionate demand” behind the suit and affirmed Fat Joe’s resolve, stating, “He will not be intimidated.”

He pointed to Fat Joe’s 2013 federal conviction for tax evasion, which led to a four-month prison sentence, suggesting the rapper has not reformed. Tacopina, however, criticized Blackburn’s credibility, noting that two federal judges have condemned his conduct in prior cases and that he faces a disciplinary committee referral in the Southern District.

This lawsuit follows a prior legal skirmish in April 2025, when Fat Joe sued Dixon and his attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, for defamation and extortion. That filing accused Dixon of slandering Fat Joe on social media with claims of transporting a 16-year-old girl across state lines for sexual purposes, alleging an attempt to extort a settlement.

Tyrone Blackburn, Dixon’s counsel, is no stranger to high-profile litigation, representing clients in a case against Sean “Diddy” Combs. However, his reputation has drawn scrutiny; federal judges have criticized him for filing lawsuits to “garner media attention” and “embarrass defendants with salacious allegations,” even referring him to a grievance committee. Fat Joe’s legal team has seized on this history, arguing Blackburn follows a “well-documented pattern of abusing the courts to harass defendants.”

As the case progresses, both parties are gearing up for a contentious fight. Dixon told Variety,

“This is the right way to fight Joe — through the system. You can’t fight him no other way.”

The lawsuit’s outcome remains uncertain, but its explosive allegations and the bitter history between Fat Joe and Dixon ensure it will stay in the spotlight.
