Rapper Quando Rondo from Savannah, Georgia, has about two years left in his federal jail term and is currently serving it at RRM Atlanta. This information comes from a social media posting by the hip hop-related handle @mymixtapez stating that he has had his date for leaving the halfway house changed from an earlier date to November 1, 2026.
Federal Bureau of Prisons’ information, along with news published by Rolling Stone, XXL, and Complex, show that the date for full release is set for November 11, 2026. The slight difference may be linked to the typical process of administrative changes or good-time credits typical for reentry into society of federal prisoners.
Tyquian Terrell Bowman, popularly known as Quando Rondo, pleaded guilty for conspiracy to possess with an intent to distribute marijuana in the month of August 2024. The charges were added to his previous ones during the second-degree indictment in December 2023, after which he entered a pre-trial diversion program. In December 2024, Tyquian has been sentenced by US District Judge R. Stan Baker to 33 months in prison, a $40000 fine, and three years of probation.
In January 2025, he surrendered himself to the authorities and was sent to the Federal Correctional Institution Edgefield in South Carolina. He was granted credit for time served in May 2026 and transferred to a Residential Reentry Management (RRM) in early June 2026, known as the RRM Atlanta. This halfway house allows people to resume employment, attend counseling, and resume community custody before being released on parole.
At sentencing, Bowman apologized to Savannah residents, his family, and his daughters.
“I just want to say I’m sorry to the city of Savannah, to my family, and to my daughters for all the stress and pain I caused,”
He stated in court, according to reports.
Despite the legal hurdles, Quando Rondo has stayed active creatively. He dropped projects including Until I Return and 16 Months while navigating custody. The Savannah-born rapper gained prominence towards the end of the decade thanks to tracks like “I Remember” that featured Lil Baby, and his fan base was built through his melodic trap style and association with YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Never Broke Again record label. Albums including QPac (2020), Recovery (2023), and Here For A Reason (2024) continued the success.
This federal drug case stands separate from other legal issues. Bowman has been linked as a victim in a high-profile California murder-for-hire case involving Lil Durk, tied to the 2022 killing of his cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson and broader drill scene tensions stemming from the 2020 King Von incident. Lil Durk’s trial remains a point of interest.
Quando Rondo’s path reflects a common federal trajectory: plea deal, time served with credits, and structured reentry. He will complete his work under supervision until 2029. The fans and the general public will be watching to see what kind of music he produces and how he handles being in the limelight.
