Dwight Howard’s world got rocked when his beloved dog, Sunday, was killed in a gut-wrenching hit-and-run, and now he’s pleading with fans to help him get answers. It happened on June 18, 2025, in Suwanee, Georgia, where Sunday, his loyal Belgian Malinois, got hit by a car. The driver? They peeled out, leaving Howard’s best friend behind. Now, the NBA star is desperate for anyone who knows anything to speak up.
Howard, who’s balling with the Big 3’s L.A. Riot these days, wasn’t even in town—he was in New York when it went down. He poured his heart out in an Instagram post on June 26, 2025, and man, it’s tough to read without feeling his pain. He called Sunday his “peace” and “protector,” saying she was always glued to his side.
“Who could be so heartless?”
He asked his 3.7 million followers, begging for any leads on what happened.
Sunday wasn’t just any dog. She was Howard’s ride-or-die, a Belgian Malinois who’d wrap him in big, goofy hugs and come running every time he called her name. He described her as his “best friend,” the one who got him through rough days with her chill, sunny vibe.
“She was my Sunday Sunshine,”
He wrote, and you can feel how much her loss is tearing him up.
The story’s blowing up online, with fans on social media sending love and sharing Howard’s call for help. As of today, June 27, 2025, there’s no word on the driver or any breakthroughs from the Suwanee police. It’s like the trail’s gone cold, which only makes Howard’s plea more urgent.
He’s not giving up, though, and neither are his fans. If you know anything about what happened in Suwanee that day, Howard’s asking you to reach out to the cops or his team.
Losing Sunday hits hard—not just for Howard, but for anyone who’s ever loved a pet like family. The basketball world’s got his back, and here’s hoping someone comes forward to bring some closure. Let’s help get justice for Sunday.
