DCG Shun Fires Shots at OTF Jam Over Lil Durk and Lul Pab Connection

Things in Chicago’s rap game just took another dramatic turn, as rival members accuse each other of fuelling conversations of violence, loyalty, and vendetta. In the latest development, Chicago rapper DCG Shun has pointed a direct accusing finger at OTF affiliate “OTF Jam”, vilifying Lil Durk over the 2022 murder of Quando Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab. The diss has flared recent intensifications of long-standing hostilities between Lil Durk’s OTF camp and Quando Rondo’s crew, with the beef going back to the 2020 murder of King Von, a close associate of Lil Durk; his killing instigated this ongoing violent cycle.

The latest claim, which rose from DCG Shun, alleges that OTF Jam was wired up with a wire in order to set up Lil Durk during the scheme that aimed at Quando Rondo’s camp. First boiling over in November 2020, that is when King Von was shot and killed in the city of Atlanta following an physical altercation with Quando Rondo’s camp, law enforcement charged Lul Tim, an associate of Rondo, with the murder of Von. That drove tension between the two camps through the roof. Through interviews, Quando Rondo kept proclaiming his support for Lul Tim, at one juncture even going as far as to say he’d “die” for him-a position that further cemented the rivalry between OTF and Quando Rondo’s camp.

A cousin of Quando Rondo, Lul Pab, was shot and killed in Los Angeles in August of 2022-a murder many believed to be in retaliation for Von’s death. Although this public feud took it to the next level and there was never much evidence that linked him to the killing, the diss from DCG Shun has once again ignited the situation.

These accusations have thrown the rap world into turmoil, especially for Lil Durk, born Durk Banks. He was arrested on October 24 in Broward County, Florida, over charges related to a murder-for-hire plot against Quando Rondo-a scheme allegedly set into motion as retaliation for King Von’s death. Meanwhile, Durk and five other alleged OTF members have been indicted on counts of murder for hire and conspiracy in the 2022 killing of Lul Pab. Still currently being held in the Broward County Jail without bond, Durk awaits to be transferred into U.S. Marshals custody.

The newly unsealed indictment filed in California accuses several men allegedly tied to OTF with orchestrating an attack on Rondo that tragically resulted in Lul Pab’s death.

Prosecutors argue that OTF resources were used to facilitate the murder-for-hire plot, as flights and rental cars were paid for with the outfit’s credit accounts via the label. Durk’s name does not appear in the indictment, but it does suggest that an “unnamed co-conspirator” promised both serious perks-a fat check and a lucrative music contract-to anyone who could help carry out Quando Rondo’s murder.

As these accusations and arrests started to surface, the social medias went wild with rampant speculations and intense discussion by fans of both camps. The supporters and critics alike have stormed Instagram and Twitter, among other outlets, where the reactions span from calls for justice all the way to staunch defenses of the implicated rappers. Media outlets and hip-hop blogs closely followed the developments in this case, and their reports often increased public curiosity while adding sensationalism about the feud.

With all the storm of information and speculation, concrete evidence is still very little; much of the conflict remains based upon conjecture. To this day, many fans debate over whose accusations are valid, furthered by rumors and unsettled claims within the rap community of Chicago.

Piling on to Lil Durk’s legal issues is a new wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the mother of FBG Duck, a Chicago rapper killed in 2020. Per the attorney, the single asserts that Durk and King Von, prior to Von’s murder, were part of an attempt to plot the murder of Duck, putting a hit out for $100,000 on his life. It claims Durk knowingly participated in violent activity with Von and deeper entrenched himself into his reputation over gang violence in Chicago’s rap world.

The lawsuit describes a pattern of violence that is consistent with Durk’s public image and the music that frequently refers to actual conflicts and threats. His history of ongoing feuds, especially with the associates of FBG Duck, appears symptomatic to many within the Chicago rap scene of larger issues that have become associated with hip-hop’s impact on gang violence.
