The legal drama between retired OnlyFans creator Gabriella Zuniga and NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe has taken an unexpected turn—this time, on social media.
Just days after reports surfaced that Zuniga had reached a multi-million-dollar settlement in her sexual assault lawsuit against Sharpe, the 28-year-old posted a cryptic Bible verse to her Instagram Story. The verse, partially obscured by her hand, read in part:
“I pulverize them like dust of the earth; I crush them and trample them like mud in the streets… God, he grants me vengeance and casts down peoples under me. He frees me from my enemies. You exalt me above my adversaries; you rescue me from violent men.”
The vivid language of triumph, divine justice, and vindication sparked immediate speculation over whether Zuniga was referencing her recently concluded legal battle with the former Denver Broncos tight end.
Filed in April 2025, Zuniga’s $50 million civil suit accused Sharpe of sexual assault, rape, and emotional distress stemming from what both later acknowledged was a “consensual but tumultuous relationship” that began in 2023, when Zuniga was 20 and Sharpe was 54.
After months of negotiations, the case was settled out of court in July and dismissed with prejudice, preventing it from being refiled. Less than two weeks after the settlement, ESPN terminated its relationship with the Hall of Fame tight end, ending his role as a frequent “First Take” contributor. The move came despite Sharpe’s earlier plans to return for the NFL preseason.
Prior to news of the settlement, Zuniga had announced her retirement from OnlyFans in a since-deleted post:
“Today, I have decided to retire from OF… This community has given me a life I could have never imagined… I’m truly excited for this next chapter.”
In a July Instagram post, she thanked supporters and promised “several new projects” while expressing excitement for “this next chapter.”
The combination of her abrupt career exit and religiously charged Instagram message has fueled speculation that Zuniga may be attempting a public rebranding in the wake of the lawsuit’s conclusion.
