Colombian Hitwoman ‘The Doll’ Captured for Multiple Murders, Including Ex-BF

Karen Julieth Ojeda Rodriguez, also known as “The Doll”, was arrested. This 23-year-old young lady was directly involved in a series of high-profile murders. Her detention is another very important milestone in the fight against organized crime in Colombia-in particular, in Barrancabermeja, a city that has suffered violence for so many years.

The arrest of Rodriguez has been highly publicized; she wasn’t any ordinary figure in the underworld but a feared leader of a network of hitmen from the Los de la M gang. Her influence cut across local territories, where she allegedly ordered killings as part of a bid to consolidate power. This case puts a face on a disturbing trend in Colombia, where more women become part of gang activities and rise to influential positions in what has long been a man’s world.

Of the crimes linked to Rodriguez, perhaps the most striking is the murder of her ex-boyfriend, Deyvy Jesus. She is said to have lured him to a meeting in Piedecuesta on July 23, 2024, on the premise of settling a financial dispute, where two gunmen lay in wait and killed him. It is believed that this cold-blooded and calculated murder really exposed her as capable of using personal relationships to her advantage in criminal matters.

She was arrested after an exhaustive investigation by the Magdalena Medio Police. During the operation, two of her accomplices were also seized: Paula Valentina Joya Rueda, alias “Gorda Sicaria” (Fat Hitwoman), and a man identified as “Leopoldo.” During the raid, police seized one revolver and one 9mm pistol that could be linked to other murders. For Lieutenant-Colonel Mauricio Herrera, coordinator of the operation, detentions marked the steps toward the resituating of communities for the return of order in people’s lives.

The detention of Rodriguez opens a vista of relief to many inhabitants of Barrancabermeja. These are people who have lived with violence around them, amidst fear because of the high criminal rise of gangs in that place. With Rodriguez and her team now behind bars, law enforcement hopes this would dissuade further criminal acts and give way to renewed safety within the area.

While prosecution got underway, investigators have been really zeroing in on confiscated weapons to see if they could link Rodriguez’s group with more crimes-a factor very crucial for the case, ensuring that fair justice will be imparted to her victims and damages to communities.

Experts believe that Rodriguez’s crimes were driven by a mix of personal motives and environmental influences. Her ambition for power within the gang, the financial incentives of organized crime, and the normalization of violence in her environment likely played a role. The murder of her ex-boyfriend adds a personal dimension to her actions, suggesting unresolved conflicts or a desire for revenge intertwined with her criminal career.
