Cardi B Heads to Colombia for Butt Implant Removal Post-Tour

During a recent radio interview while on her “Little Miss Drama” tour, the Grammy-winning rapper revealed that she plans to remove about 95% of her remaining biopolymer butt injections once the trek wraps. The tour supports her sophomore album, I Am the Drama, and has kept the Bronx native on the road through early 2026.

“After this tour, I’m taking some out,” Cardi said, adding that she intends to travel to Colombia for the procedure and spend several months recovering out of the public eye.

The rapper has long been candid about her history with cosmetic enhancements, including undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift in the 2010s. She has also spoken openly about receiving illegal biopolymer injections in her early 20s — a decision she has repeatedly said she regrets. In past interviews and Instagram livestreams, Cardi has warned fans against taking similar risks, citing complications such as fibrosis, a buildup of hardened scar tissue that can occur when foreign substances are injected into the body.

In 2024, she underwent surgery to remove a significant portion of the injected material. Her latest comments suggest she now hopes to remove nearly all that remains.

Cardi has documented her efforts to reverse those earlier procedures over the past several years. In a 2022 Instagram video, she revealed that she had already removed 95% of her biopolymers — a term often used to describe certain non-FDA-approved filler materials sometimes injected for body contouring.

“If you’re young … and you don’t have enough fat to put in your ass, so you result to ass shots, DON’T!” she warned at the time, urging fans to avoid the risky procedure.

She has since shared updates about undergoing additional rounds of surgery to address remaining material and fibrosis. Earlier this year, she reiterated during a radio appearance that she plans to remove even more after her current tour concludes.

Biopolymer injections, which are not approved by the FDA in the United States, have been linked to a range of health risks, including chronic inflammation, infection and tissue damage. Because the procedures are often performed outside licensed medical settings, removal can be complex and may require multiple surgeries.

Cardi’s decision to have the procedure done in Colombia has sparked conversation online. The country has become a major hub for medical tourism, particularly cosmetic surgery, due to comparatively lower costs and surgeons who specialize in body-contouring procedures. Still, some fans have questioned whether undergoing surgery abroad could present challenges related to follow-up care compared with U.S.-based facilities.

Her announcement also comes amid shifting beauty standards. According to data published in peer-reviewed aesthetic surgery journals, demand for Brazilian Butt Lift procedures has declined in recent years as awareness of surgical risks has grown and trends have moved toward more natural silhouettes.
