Reginae Carter is giving her father, Lil Wayne, major credit for shaping the expectations she brings into her relationships.
In a new clip from the family talk show Heir Time, the 26-year-old actress and influencer opens up about how the rapper’s consistent communication has influenced her standards. The 45-second video — shared on X and filmed in a cozy studio with a purple backdrop and plants — features Reginae sitting with her parents, Lil Wayne (born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) and her mother Toya Johnson, for a candid conversation about family, priorities, and effort.
“What’s one thing you want people to understand about the real father-daughter relationship between us?” Lil Wayne asks in the clip.
Reginae responds, “I feel like me and my dad, we talk every day, whether it’s texting. I always say, actually, Dad — you probably are the reason why no man can say he’s too busy.”
She continues, “My dad, no matter what, he gon’ text me or call me every day. Has there been a day where I didn’t talk to my daddy? No. That man is the busiest man I know, and if he could call me, there’s no way anybody could be too busy.”
Throughout the clip, Lil Wayne — wearing a beanie, black top, and plaid pants while holding a notepad — listens and smiles as his daughter speaks. Johnson appears equally supportive, nodding and laughing along as Reginae reflects on her upbringing.
The moment has sparked conversation online, with many viewers praising the rapper’s hands-on parenting and agreeing with Reginae’s message about communication in relationships. One viral reply read, “A man who actually cares about you is never too busy for you,” while another user added, “I love how his fathering has carried over to her standards in men.”
Others offered a different perspective, noting that Wayne’s level of flexibility may not reflect the reality of most people’s schedules. Still, the overwhelming response celebrated Reginae’s insight and the family’s close bond.
Reginae — who turns 27 today — is the eldest child of Lil Wayne and Johnson, who welcomed her as a teen and have maintained a strong co-parenting relationship since their split. The Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta alum has often spoken about the positive influence both parents have had on her life.

Lil Wayne, 43, continues to balance one of the busiest careers in hip-hop with raising his four children, a commitment Reginae says she never overlooks.
As she tells it, her father’s consistency has taught her one lesson she hopes others take to heart: if someone wants to make time for you, they will.
