    Broadway Singer, Actress Marva Hicks Dead At 66


    The entertainment industry mourns another fallen talent. Sadly, Broadway singer and actress Marva Hicks has passed away. She is known for her appearance on Broadway’s The Lion King and Motown. According to BET, the 66-year-old passed away on Friday September 16. Marva Hicks’ cause of her death is not known. The award winning actress is native to Petersburg, Virginia making her debut to Broadway in 1981 after graduating from Howard University. She would later appear in performances like, The Great White Way in Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, Caroline, or Change Motown the Musical in 2013. The actress leaves behind a reputable legacy.

    Marva Hicks was born on May 5, 1975, making her a Taurus. The star also boasts a broad resume for composing and singing. She is noted for her works Star Trek Voyager: (1995), Labor Day (2013), and Virtuosity (1995). She is also a good friend of Star Jones, according to IMBD. As far as her singing talents, she was one of Michael Jackson’s backup singers on his very last world tour. Hicks also toured with James Ingram, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston. Marva’s reputation is one to live up to, to have been on the same buses with all the greats? It is so sad to hear of Hicks’ passing; however, it is great to know that she set fire to her trail and blazed it. She is an inspiration to many artists all over the world.
