Ben Simmons has been making headlines for a while getting the blame for the Sixers losing in the playoffs. His refusal to make an open shot or make his free throws has rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way. Naturally, the Sixers has been entertaining options to trade Ben Simmons. More over, Ben demanded to be traded. Yet, Ben Simmons doesn’t want to help them out by refusing to report to training camp to increase his market value. Instead, Simmons believes he is worth more. That delusional thinking has caught the attention of two former major NBA stars Barkley and Shaq, claiming that the baller is caught up in his own hype.

According to Kendrick Perkins, of ESPN, Simmons is willing to refuse training camp as long as it takes to get traded. However, Ben has his sights on California and no longer wants to be a Sixer. The Sixers would get on board with trading him, but recently his market value tanked after his appearance in the postseason. In order to get a quality player back, the Sixers need to increase his market value but Simmons refuses to him them out because he believes he is better than he is. At this point, he acting like a baby having a tantrum. Instead of helping himself and the Sixers who have believed in him all this time, his response is the equivalent of a child holding their breath until they get what they want.

Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley Respond

“Ben Simmons, you’re not that good. And then, in this league, do you want to be good or do you want to be great? You’re not great. But if you want to get to that next level, you have to be great. And to be great, you have to work on your game.”

    Furthermore, Shaq continued,

“I was at Game 6… that guy was out there scared. Not scared of playing, but scared of getting fouled and missing free throws.” You ain’t that D**N good.”

Then, Philly native, Barkley decided to weigh in.

“I’m disappointed in Ben Simmons. When you pay someone $200 million just to dribble a silly basketball, and all you expect from them is to improve as a player, but their immediate reaction is, “I don’t want to be here anymore,” it’s really disheartening for me as a player and as a fan.
