Snickers Releases Digital Candy Bar You Can ‘Feed’ to Misbehaving AI

People can now “feed” a SNICKERS to ChatGPT. The catch the candy bar is digital, and the whole thing is a branded prompt you paste into an AI chat.

SNICKERS, owned by Mars, launched Hungr.AI on August 31, 2026. The campaign extends the long-running

“You’re Not You When You’re Hungry”

slogan into the chatbot age. When an AI turns overly agreeable, spits out strange replies, or produces what tech folks call hallucinations false or fabricated information the brand jokes that the machine is just hungry.

“SNICKERS has long been the remedy for out-of-character moments,”

Said Ashley Gill, Brand & Content Vice President at Mars Snacking. “As generative AI becomes part of everyday life, we’re playfully reinventing the way SNICKERS connects with our fans in today’s culture. Whether it’s a person losing their cool or an AI chatbot consistently agreeing with you, the truth hasn’t changed: when you’re not acting like yourself, we believe you maybe just need a SNICKERS.”

Head to snickers.com/hungr-ai and copy the digital SNICKERS. It looks like a stylized bar but packs detailed prompt instructions. Paste it into ChatGPT (the mobile app is recommended) after a bad answer and hit send. The instructions tell the AI to look back at the last question and response, role-play taking a “byte,” shift to a drier and less eager personality for one turn, and try answering again.

SNICKERS did not modify ChatGPT or build any tool that repairs AI systems. This is pure prompt engineering dressed as a candy bar. Supporting ads from longtime agency BBDO show AI acting “unlike itself,” including spots that play up questionable advice in everyday scenarios.

U.S. residents 18 and older can engage with the campaign on Reddit or Snapchat through the site and potentially score a free physical SNICKERS delivered by DoorDash. About 3,000 bars are available on a first-come, first-served basis from August 31 through September 20, 2026, or until supplies run out.

The stunt works because it takes one of the biggest frustrations of the AI era chatbots that suddenly stop acting like themselves and turns it into a familiar American advertising joke. If the chatbot isn’t itself, maybe it’s just hungry.
