Six New Lawsuits Allege Diddy Committed Sexual Assault—Teen Among Victims

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing six new lawsuits that accuse him of serious sexual misconduct. The lawsuits, filed in federal court on Monday, create ripples not only in the music industry but beyond. First reported, the complaints-which were lodged in the Southern District of New York-involve accusations by four men and two unidentified women.

Those lawsuits paint a graphic picture. The accusers, not identified in court papers, join over 100 others who reportedly will file lawsuits against Combs. This stream of allegations suggests a major pattern of misconduct that has shocked many.

The nature of the allegations is abhorrent. Among the accusations include rape, sexual assault, and even drugging. Others say their drinks were tampered with, which led to almost a fugue-like state, to further elucidate how unable a person would be to resist such an attack. The incidents allegedly happened during Combs’ wild parties when several celebrities flocked.

One complaint comes from a 16-year-old boy who said he was assaulted at an opulent “White Party” in the Hamptons back in 1998. Another accuser, a 19-year-old college student, said she was raped in a Manhattan hotel room in 2004. The complaints vary from forced oral sex, to assaults in a Macy’s stockroom in 2008, to at a party in 2021, among others.

The lawsuits come through attorney Tony Buzbee, who filed them under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act; this is an act that is supposed to give legitimacy to victims of gender-based violence, hence making the claims grave in nature.

Buzbee’s representation of a large group of accusers puts Combs in the midst of one of the largest anarchical legal campaigns; he also faces federal charges that include racketeering and sex trafficking. His trial is set for May 5, 2025, and he has pleaded not guilty to these charges.

Lawyers for Diddy have denied all of the allegations, which they say are publicity stunts. All of them are confident in their various legal defenses, saying the truth will come out in court. “Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman,” they said categorically. They have filed for Combs’ release from detention on grounds that the jail conditions are poor. Their request that he be released on bail has been refused on the grounds that he could flee.

Buzbee, in an interview, painted a grim picture of Diddy’s alleged behavior-impervious to the fact that he could get into trouble himself. “There’s kind of an overarching theme here, which is basically Sean Combs feels like he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants to do it,” he said.

Reactions to these allegations from the public have been feverish. Combs has been at the centre of one of the most high-profile media storms in the music business. The lawsuits add to the artist’s growing list of legal troubles, which include 12 civil lawsuits that have been filed against him prior to the recent filings.

With these six new lawsuits, that number has now risen to at least 18 and is likely to rise much further as many more victims come forward.

Combs, in turn, has expressed a desire to move on and added that he is not admitting any guilt. His family has rallied around him in defense, with his mother saying, “My son is not the monster they have painted him to be.”

These lawsuits come at a time when Diddy is already embroiled in serious legal battles. He is presently waiting for his trial on federal charges, with the judge setting a trial date for May 5. Diddy has been denied bail on two occasions thus far, and his legal team is working diligently for the reversal of those decisions.

This wave of lawsuits comes on the back of an earlier lawsuit filed by Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, where she accused him of years of physical and sexual abuse. While that was settled almost as soon as it was filed, the reverberations of that lawsuit have stayed with Diddy, especially after a surveillance video surfaced showing him physically assaulting Ventura in 2016.

In this instance, the belief of victims in sexual assault and the conversation concerning it becomes more significant than ever. As more get ready to file charges against Combs, this opens further the avenue leading to justice and recognition of their silent suffering. And the unfolding narrative is not about the troubles a man has with the law but of change in culture that screams for attention and change.
