Rueben Wood came to SXSW with a mission and a goal in mind. The music producer and Dj curated a 10min set featuring musical acts Hollywood 40 and Yuvg Tooley, followed by the closeout performance by Wood and Floridian artist MSB Boog. “You Can Tell” drops as Boog ends his upbeat introduction song, and crowd anticipation builds. The hook drops, and boom! The crowd goes crazy reciting the hook and dancing to a new Hit Record!
This single is just another teaser to his 2nd studio album, 5 am On Peachtree. If you know anything about Atlanta, 5 am could be anything from broken heels courtesy of a night filled with dancing and a steady drum of oppositions to stillness in the light of an emerging sun providing an ominous overlay of the nightlife. Rueben and MSB Boog decided to take the scenic route with this song, leading viewers from city sightings and landscape shots to performance shots in front of the infamous Hard Rock Cafe and the notorious Diamond Club Atlanta.
The music video for “You Can Tell” is the latest addition to 5AM On Peachtree’s visual offerings. Videos are also in the pipeline for tracks like “2 Tymes,” “Margaret’s Song,” “Wickland,” and “Wanna Go.” This album, Wood’s second studio release, comprises 14 songs in total, enriched with collaborative appearances from notable artists including Camron, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, Juicy J, Kurupt, and more!
